Maybe I was right a year ago. Maybe Trump really is a secret agent working for the Democrats, with the intent to sink the Republican Ship in deep water?
Whether he's a secret agent for the Democrats or the Kremlin, the Republicans own him now.
Despite overwhelming support from the entire Senate, Trump is not going to sign a bill that will weaken his powers to do anything.
Especially where it relates to his adopted homeland.
If the bill makes it out of the US House with 2/3 vote or better, then congress can do a Veto Override if TrumPutin vetoes the bill. A Veto Override needs support of 2/3 of congress.
Since the Senate passed it at 98-2 so we know the Senate has enough votes to override a veto. One would assume that the US House would comparable support of the Russian Sanctions bill. But until we know where the US House stands, we really don't know how well they support it.
Does anyone know where the US House stands on this bill? Do they have preliminary support numbers yet?
The Senate overwhelmingly passed legislation imposting new sanctions on Russia on Thursday with a 98-2 vote. The legislation also gives Congress the ability to block Trump from easing sanctions without Congressional approval....
dirty commies Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders voted to side with the Ignoramus-in-Chief
The optics are incredible. No one in the WH except Trump could be pushing for this at this time.
What could Putin be holding over Trump? It must be good.

That would make both Trump and the Democratic party brilliant strategists and and the most forward of planners.
I'll stick with the KISS concept: Trump is an idiot and the Kremlin has something over his head that could put him in jail and paying big alimony!

I would think Ryan may not want to touch this till after it gets polled. Areas that feel POTUS is the best we have ever seen may hurt their chance to retain the House if approved at a number high enough to over ride the liar in chief.
