The argument being made is that you do not speak negatively of those who have been hurt, even when you disagree with what that persons stands for.

I actually agree with that sentiment.

HOWEVER............2 points

1. She isnt degrading him as a person, just stating his view points. If you see those view points as negative, then maybe you shouldnt be supporting him as a politician.

2 there is a lot of hypocrisy here from the right, take a look at any thread about Gabby Giffords to see that. If you are going to make this argument, make sure your own house is in order.

Oh, yeah,, she hopes he recovers while bashing him. Joy says he is a racist, a homophobic , etc.. too bad everyone does not think like you Joy.. your politics is more important to speak of while the guy is still unconscious fighting to stay alive.

I thought they were respectful and acknowledging the moral dilemma about talking about Scalise's association with white supremacists and his intolerance to gays. It is an interesting moral question. I knew little about Scalise and the first thing i heard is about how great a guy he is...he's just one of the really good ones. Then I started reading and I was -- yikes -- he's not one of my good people. Of course I was pulling for him to live and it was awful he was gunned down like that...but does that mean I forget his true character. I don't think so.

I think the right is being purposefully dramatic here and looking for fault. She was interviewing a pastor about dealing with that moral dilemma. She didn't wish ill will...she didn't speak that badly of Scalise.

We have to be able to have dialogue without getting too crazy folks. Relax.

If he does not support gay marriage, why is it wrong to say that? If he voted for the GOP health bill, why its it wrong to say that? If he is an NRA supporter, why is it wrong to say that? Is any of that bashing him? How is listing his voting record an attack? It's what he stands for the same as calling him a Republican. Is calling him a Republican an attack?

No reason you should refrain from attacking a hypocrite just because something bad happened to him.

As this thread proves, liberals want people who disagree with them to pay for their opinions in blood. That is a huge difference between the left and the right in today's America.

No one is saying anything of the sort. They listed his votes which I doubt he would disagree with, since they are his votes.

She and you are making your hateful argument in the context of someone getting shot and almost killed for an opinion different than yours.

Your reprehensible argument is that he brought it on himself for not agreeing with your opinions. Karma is real, as someone mentioned above. It may pay you a visit some day.
