We were wrong, and we completely understand that. We want to gain back the trust of the American people, so we are going to wipe clean the DNC leadership slate (remove the Clinton lackey Perez), and get new leadership in the House and Senate. We are ready to work for the American people to create the best America possible."

Then you tell Hillary to drop out of the spotlight. You tell Dem Congressional members to stop hyperventilating over ever little thing. Focus opposition on the big things that actually matter. And stop encouraging riots and people shutting down free speech. Within 2 years the Dems would have a viable, healthy party again.

Complete and utter right wing myth. Same old same old. The Democrats are not going to dump leadership and remember they won the popular vote.

Basically they should play the opposition party against the incompetent Trump and the divided and non functional Republicans. Any clear initiatives to the American People should be saved for 2020. There is no way in 2018 to get around a blocking President whether Trump or someone else.

Need good strong local candidates in all the contestable elections. This is an election where getting out the vote is probably the key thing.

LOL.

Here's your popular vote....

And given the Democrats own narrative leading up to this election, Trump is in absolutely no trouble in keeping it like that too. In fact he may expand the map next time.

A dream is an understatement. More like wishful thinking on steroids.

As far as the Dems winning the house, I initially thought that but now I'm beginning to wonder. Recent special elections showed Dems winning in the polls but losing in the elections. There could be a number of reasons for that but there is one that I don't see changing, and it has to do with self enrichment.

There is so much money at stake here and the Republicans have the most to gain. That's why the Republicans bring cannons to the knife fight. Democrats seem to only muster up a rubber knife.

The Pubs are there to annihilate their opponent by any means possible, even if they have to lie, cheat and steal. Winning is the only thing that matters because the stakes are so high. And many voters don't seem to care.

This. Plus, a lot of Republicans are fed up with the do nothing GOP...this was a double message. Both the Dems and the RINO GOP members don't seem to have heard it, so I guess we'll tell them again in 2018.

These are not remote rural districts. GA 06 is a suburban district of Atlanta, and SC 05 is a suburban district of Charlotte. They are full of well off sunbelt transplants that both parties need to win elections.

In both cases the Democrat party was tied to Nancy Pelosi and her policies and the rest is history. She has become the "face" of the Democrat Party. And the party continues to lose bigly across the nation in places where they need to be winning in the future.

As dramatic as events unfold around us, this is maybe just the calm before the storm for the Democrat establishment.

Can they outline a workable policy agenda in time before the 2018 mid term elections ?. They can try, although it might just fall on deaf ears among their supporters, who are now in full resistance mode. The gloves are off , boots are on and quite a few like all this "social warrior" status. Why return to the tedious world of politics when there is more fun to be had attacking that Trump guy.

Post 2008 elections forecast : Dems to lose badly. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders to point fingers around them. Nancy Pelosi to be close to calling it a day and retiring from politics. The stage is then set for the Democrat party to split at the seams. The Obama vs Hillary Clinton private feuding will become very much public, as she blames Obama for ultimately ruining the party.

If the Dems ever decide to dump Pelosi, Perez or whoever is in charge, I hope they elect you to be in charge. Gotta keep that same losing mentality going.

I don't think the Rs should be getting too cocky and confident.
Although Trump has gotten a lot done even with the limitations he's had, the R Congress is not getting diddly done.....

Sanders would have won.

Why should Hillary drop out of the spotlight when Newt Gingrich continues to open his mouth on every television show he's invited to?

No; of course they shouldn't apologize.

They should get with the Russians to hack the RNC and release all of THEIR emails. THEN - we'll have a level playing field.

OH. . . and those emails would be delicious.

With regard to 'shutting down free speech' the paid Republican protestors were in full display this week-end at the Shakespeare play they took exception to.

I guess I don't get the hate for Pelosi while the corrupt turkey neck continues to lie and sell out his KY coal miners for nothing.
