Can anyone show where in the bill it says the Fed Gov is going to give Sheldon Adelson $40 million, as Fiyero has asserted? Or is that just a bunch of horsebleep? I want to see the section of the bill that says the Fed Gov will give money to the rich.
They are not going to be GIVEN money, they are going to have their taxes massively cut which amounts to the same thing.
If this passes, many Republican representatives can say goodbye to their reelection prospects. This bill screws over the people who need healthcare the most.
Yes, ironically, people like the Clintons, George Soros, Silicon Valley million and billionaires will come out great, and the people of Kentucky, West Va, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. will be hurting, as well as anyone over 50 not getting health insurance through an employer. The blue states like MA, NY and CA will have their own systems. Forget the opioid epidemic abating--that will go forward full force. And good luck with those pre-existing conditions. Hope the ER works for whatever ails you. Nothing like regressing.
That being said, I hope McConnell shoves it through. It's about time the Trump voters realized the fruits of their labors. And the Republicans will make it quite clear who they are working for, along with Trump and his one-percenter cabinet. I would hope that congress gets their health insurance from the free market and not paid for by the government. All elected and appointed officials should be included.
From the business insider article I posted on page4 :
What's in the bill: Much like the House version, the Senate would do away with things like Obamacare 3.8% tax on investment income on people earning an annual income above $200,000.
What it means: The taxes in Obamacare fall predominantly on a small percentage of wealthy Americans, who would see their tax bills fall. For instance, Republican megadonor and casino magnate Sheldon Adelson could have his 2017 tax bill cut by roughly $44 million.

No, it doesn't. Fiyero asserted the Fed Gov was going to GIVE money to the rich. But apparently that's completely untrue. The Fed Gov will just take less of people's own money.
Because history has shown over and over and over again that the less government gets involved, the better off everyone is. The rich are the ones that hire people. There is no net gain when you steal from the rich and give to the poor. The poor stay poor and the rich can't hire anyone.
So your history indicates government should get out of transportation, education and health care. We would be much better off kind of like the 1800's.
Compnanies like Amazon and Apple not to mention many smalll businesses that make the economy go, stop worrying about the horror stories regarding the rich, they are doing just fine.
I guess we plebeians get to be let in on the big secret now!
This bill is better than the House bill, but it's still just a less comprehensive version of the Affordable Care Act. People will lose coverage, and there is no assistance being provided to people who made too much money to qualify for subsidies. In fact, this bill would grow their ranks.
This bill repeals the individual mandate. The House bill replaced it with letting insurers charge a penalty to people who had coverage lapses. What does this bill do to ensure people won't just wait until they're sick to sign up?
Like the House bill, this bill seems like a solution in search of a problem. Not that there aren't problems with the Affordable Care Act, but I'm not seeing what either of these bills would do to address them.
I know they're in a great big rush to pass this next week, but hopefully they won't.

So this should be a slam dunk for the rich fat cat democrats to vote on it.
TL,DR: GOP bill cuts money to benefit poorer and older Americans and gives massive amounts of money to ultra rich people, insurance companies, and drug companies.
This should probably be a sticky in this forum. LOL
Is this a health care bill or a budget bill?
Does the health care bill also address tax cuts?
Do you believe those people making less than 200K pay more taxes than those making 200K.
Do you agree peoples personal investments should be taxed at a higher rate?
Do you believe those who cant afford insurance but aren't eligible for medicaid or other free health care or whose insurance doesn't meet Obamacare standards like OBGYN coverage should be taxed to pay for others to have health insurance?
