There was another mass German prisoner of war execution. 14 were executed in Ft. Leavenworth after murdering some of their comrades, who were believed to have turned traitor.
The executions were all by hanging and were carried out over several days, with several at a time being executed. The last were executed after Japan surrendered.
The executions were delayed due to fear the Nazis would execute American POWs in retaliation while the war was still going on.
