They are about to win the culture war. I think within the next ten years we will see the following changes.
1) Marriage equality overturned
2) Roe v Wade overturned
3) Establishment clause only applies to federal government, so Oklahoma for instance could become a Baptist state, Utah could become a Mormon state, etc.
4) Prayer returned to schools, likely dependent on whatever faith the state chose as the state religion
5) Lawrence vs Texas overturned (homosexuality recriminalized), Russia-style anti-gay law will be passed soon after
6) Non-discrimination laws pertaining to race and gender overturned
Nice fear mongering attempt but total failure. It's almost unheard of for a Supreme Court to back track another Supreme Courts decision on a major issue. Very few have happened.
Boy, you're really way out there, I have to hand that much to you.
Trumps selection could really change the direction of the court.
What are the chances that any more picks Trump might make for the Supreme Court, will turn out to be sycophants, who will bow and wag their tails, as they carry-out his orders? Justice Kennedy himself, was picked to be another conservative member, but he turned out to be conscientious and mostly bi-partisan in his decisions and arguments.

Any newbies will be less left-wing vs the 80 somethings likely to depart.
It happens. Reagan thought he was nominating a staunch conservative with O'Conner but she turned out to be very middle of the road and even leaned towards the liberal side on some issues. You just never know.

That's the thing about it being a lifetime appointment. Once confirmed, they can vote their conscience. They don't have to have partisan loyalty because they will never be up for re-election. I always thought it was interesting how some of the justices conservatives hate the most, like Kennedy, were appointed by Republican Presidents.
The only reason why I voted for Trump. To secure judges who will fight for the second amendment. Everything else Trump talked about, I really don't care about.

Agreed, and that's why our Founding Fathers were smart enough to make them life long appointments. They can't be threatened with losing their jobs if they vote one way or another regardless of who appointed them.

But can't they still be threatened if someone has high enough power to put a hit on a judge's family? Or the judge themselves?
