Mass school shootings are rare in Europe and are unlikely to ever get less rare unless people lose their minds and change gun laws to make guns easier to get (not likely).
Ok.....but what about all of the other tragic terrorist related violence. It is so scary and horrible for the poor people who have been killed or injured both physically and psychologically by this violence. Again, I say, we need to open our eyes now.

My son (born in '95) and his friends went out and just played, took off on their bikes, AirSoft battles in the woods, etc.. As long as they were home for dinner.

If they decide to put an above ground swimming pool in the middle of the road, it is only common sense to put barricades around it to keep the traffic out.
Just how many mass shootings have there been in the US so far this year? And although you say that Europe is a dangerous place, people haven't felt the need to carry concealed firearms as Americans do. I believe that even teachers in US schools are armed.

If we're gonna go there: your Islamist losers murdered a bunch of people at that Ariana Grand concert IN England and, NO gun was used.
Too; take out the Black on Black murders here in the US, our murder rates are about the same as Europe.

They are still extremely rare too. Terrorist attacks in the UK (by the IRA) were more common when I was a kid and we didn't panic about them so why should we panic now? Nevermind the fact that panicking is what the terrorists want us to do - why let them win when we can easily not?
People living in the US forget that Europe has had waves of very serious terrorism before. Communist in Scandinavia and Germany, the PLF everywhere, IRA, ETA and on. I have been awake by the sound of a bomb detonation as recently as the late 90s
