The Middle Class is why the the Democrats were destroyed in then elections of 2014 & 2016. And the costs of Obamacare are one of the big reasons.

So if they get a giant tax cut, then it's deserved.

Everything that Barack Obama put his hands on turned to ****, and Obamacare is the biggest example of it. It's collapsing as we speak.

I can't find a single source that claims the senate bill be be beneficial to the middle class.
  • Only those earning up to 350% of the poverty level ($41,600 in 2017) would qualify for subsidies, rather than the 400% threshold ($47,500 in 2017)
  • Under Obamacare, insurers must provide 10 essential health benefits, including maternity, mental health, substance abuse and prescription drugs. The Senate bill would allow states to seek waivers of this provision, opening the door for insurers to offer less comprehensive policies.
  • the Senate bill would provide less generous subsidies to older folks who are eligible for assistance. Those in their early 60s would have to pay up to 16.2% of their income towards coverage, compared to a maximum of 6.4% for 20-somethings.
  • adults ages 60 to 64 would see their annual premiums soar 22% to nearly $18,000, according to the Milliman study for the AARP. Those in their 50s would be hit with a 13% increase and pay an annual premium of $12,800.
  • The ACA ties premiums subsidies to the cost of bronze plans instead of silver ones, In 2017, the average deductible for a silver plan is just under $3,600, but bronze plans have an average deductible of nearly $6,100.

If you disagree, then let's see some evidence of how it helps the middle class

That's a very peculiar comment. How is it that you "knew" the cost of a Dr. visit before the ACA and don't know it now, did the Doc put a price list on his wall?

Most middle class people I know loathe the current system. They hated it before Obama, during, and now after.

Until the costs I mentioned are looked at, nothing will happen. The people doing those cost driving things OWN both parties so nothing will happen. You think the congress grilling the Milan CEO was real? PLEASE tell me you dont actually believe that.

A guy has a hairbrained idea about taxes when he was 12 and somehow still considered a relevant voice by the right?

Norquest is so completely disingenuous. Repealing the ACA would be a huge tax cut, but really to people in the top .01%. The difference in what middle class households would have to pay out of pocket for comparable coverage, or even nursing home care, will be significantly more than what might be saved in taxes.

That's not true. The ACA requires that you be sent an explanation of benefits that details what the visit costs, how much your plan is covering and how much you will be expected to pay out of pocket. That was not required beforehand.

  • They can't afford to use it.
  • It's breaking the back of small business
  • Costing people full time work as companies are forced to cut back due to costs from all the mandates
The Middle Class loathes Obamacare.

It's one of the reasons the Democrats where destroyed at the polls. It's one of the reasons they faced stinging losses this past week in suburban Charlotte & suburban Atlanta.

I'm not concerned with most Middle Class people you know, I'm concerned about cost savings for the Middle Class on the new plan vs the future direction of Obamacare. Let me know when you can show how Obamacare is more beneficial than what's being proposed (the topic of the conversation).

No, sorry Grover.
Your spin is insulting. The tax cut is solely for the 1%
