LOL in this thread people who don't know the difference between totalitarianism (North Korea, Venezuela) and what we call "socialism" in the U.S., actually social democracy (Denmark, Norway, Netherlands). European social democracies have the highest standard of living, the longest life spans, debt free college, longer vacations.... ahead of the U.S. in so many categories.
Most of the people "who don't know a difference" have no problem with socialism or communism or any other silly costume collectivism wears.
UNTIL the collectivist make them their personal slaves.
Because NO FORM of COLLECTIVISM can exist without widespread destruction of human freedom and widespread human slavery to the fictional collective.
A perfect example of the "equality" that socialism brings. Everyone gets to be equally poor.
Well, some are always more equal than others. In fact, Orwell was inspired to write Animal Farm because of what happened in Spain now that I think about it.
Who said liberals own Venezuela? Or are you saying all liberals hate capitalism?
Obviously the OP is ridiculous, liberals in the US aren't proposing anything like what Venezuela has. But I'm playing along with the logic in this thread, then conservatives must answer for the starving children in Somalia; a country with no government and staunch social conservatism.
If liberals have to own Venezuela, than conservatives have to own the famines in Somalia.
Have you read their Constitution???? It is both a collectivist nightmare and a theocracy...sounds more like something written by a Democrat in this country. Just replace the official religion of Islam with the religion of the State that Democrats believe it...
The people are a "whole" and are "one" as it is stated. That is why it is a toilet.
If liberals have to own Venezuela, than conservatives have to own the famines in Somalia.
Should I even ask what the logic behind this is?
EDIT: Just saw it above... exactly what I expected. A collapsed state with various "governments" fighting for control, where no one values individual liberty or free market capitalism?
I get that it wasn't supposed to be an accurate analogy, but it's not a valid comparison. Somalia is not the result of the foundational principles behind free market capitalism. Venezuela IS the result of the foundational principles of collectivism.
