No Free plastic surgery for anyone (unless it's from combat wounds and only that part of the body) and no viagra. Get rid of the expensive burdens. I am all for that.

but I do have a problem with the military paying for NON-service related treatment and surgery.

Not sure why this is such a foreign concept for you to understand.
You conveniently ignore the fact that Tricare doesn't pay for transition surgery.

Yet, if they did, are you asserting other service members aren't eligible for medically necessary procedures?

I think you're confusing "civil rights" with race.

I'd be willing to bet that most treatment done by the military for the military is non-service related. Military personnel get sick and injured (in non-service activities) just like the rest of us. Having a baby, for ex, is not service related by any stretch.

Yes, I understand the topic. Do you understand many transgender people never undergo surgery?

If the surgery is deemed medically necessary AND other service members are given leave for medically necessary procedures, why is this a problem?

well

a medical retirement is issued when a medical condition is severe enough to interfere with the proper performance of your military duties.

So if their condition is severe enough to interfere with the proper performance of military duties, they WILL BE and SHOULD BE processed out.

Chronic condition that is severe enough to interfere with the proper performance.. is where they draw the line.

If the transgender has no such an issue, he/she can stay. Like I said, case by case.

well, Yes I understand.

That is why I said

case by case. Come to think of it, I don't necessarily agree with the blanket ban.

Case by case isn't done now?

Any and all service members who require medical procedures are processed out no matter the severity?

Now you are talking about the details. I don't know.
