I walked into a small convenience store this morning. There was a sign in the window saying you could not only buy junk food with your EBT card. You can buy that Rockstar joy juice too.

Why in the hell am I even working?

One my budget I can't afford to drink Rockstar once a day let alone all day. Will $5 Lattes at Starbucks be next? We need to get this under control, it's just wasteful.

You cannot buy much Rockstar with your EBT. EBT amounts per month are quite low.

After I'm robbed at gunpoint I don't really care what the crook spends my money on.

I'm angry over the robbery.

Yeah, I'm more outraged about this than my government spending trillions to "liberate" the Middle East.

Because you know.... my priorities are straight.

Conservatives always tend to think a lot about smaller things that don't matter much in big picture. No wonder Trump became a republican before the election and was able to pull it too by fooling them.

I don't care what people buy with their EBT card.

If people went back to producing their own food, they would have no need for government and corporations. Government handouts ensure that people will never liberate themselves from these shackles. It's about control, and not much else. It is a waste, and it turns some humans into non thinking, easily manipulated, occasionally profitable waste.

Soda is the number one item purchased with food stamps, something like 5%. 10% if you include all types of drinks, ice tea etc, about 6.5 billion dollars annually. That's before you get into the junk food and/or expensive foods costs.

Whether they buy 20 Rockstars or 20 jugs of milk or 30 loaves of bread - they get the same amout of money each month. It's not like they are getting additional funds if they want to buy Rockstar.

Just because they are able to buy Rockstar, it doesn't mean they do buy it. If it's expensive, they probably buy cheaper things instead. After all, they don't get that much each month for EBT so they have to stretch out the funds to last all month.

You sound a bit jealous. IMO, you're life must be pretty crap_py if you think the grass is greener for someone on EBT. Count your lucky stars that you don't qualify for EBT. I doubt it's something to be jealous about. Maybe you ought to be jealous of the farmer that gets $15,000/year for not planting crops. They can buy filet mignon in stores or restaurants and nobody knows that they are getting free government money.

The milk will provide sustenance and nutrients. The Rockstar is just garbage in a can. My tax dollars shouldn't be squandered on garbage. Might as well pay for their cigarettes and booze while you're at it.
