Obama warns Americans about too much patriotism - on July 4th weekend! - The American MirrorThe American Mirror

I thought it was an unwritten rule that former Presidents dont trash current Presidents. When Bush left office, he did not utter a word about Obama for years. Of course it seems Obama could not do the same courtesy for Trump. I dont care if you think Trump deserves it or not, It is classless and rude.

Obama didn't trash his predecessor either. the same is most certainly not true for Trump. If at 71 Donny hasn't learned what goes around comes around, despite his slurs of Mika, it's HE who's really dumb as a box of rocks.

Seriously? You refer to someone you think is being rude to the rudest president ever to sit in the WH?

Also unwritten rule is that current president doesn't constantly trash and insult the former president (nor his former opponent in the election).

It's very ironic that you would comment on this after Trump trashed Obama for years prior to Trump's election and has continued nonstop.

Obama has been way more restrained than most and is far more gracious, polite and dignified than Trump.

There was never an unwritten rule. George W Bush was actually exceptional in that he rarely commented on his predecessors policies. Most of them usually comment occasionally. For example, W's dad was critical of Bill Clinton.

Also, the American Mirror is actually right wing propaganda and you should be deeply ashamed that you're directly people to it.

As I recall, Obama constantly whined about how everything was "Bush's fault.

What does that have to do with anything? Trump wasn't President "for years prior".

I think we can conclude that Obama is still butthurt over considering it a personal insult to his legacy if Hilly doesn't get elected.

It's a new era. Politics as usual long gone.

We have reached a fork in the road and compromise will have to take a back seat for while.

Obama era ushered in unethical behavior, a corrupt justice system and a full blown propaganda machine. when the head of the doj falsifies a warrant to spy on journalists and the prez knows about it, we are an official banana republic.

The hijacked dem party needs to break away from the socialists who took it over.

The most significant element in today's politics is the news media. the media has the power to bring 'justice' to people who in legal labrynth have not broken the law. And it can push issues with slanted articles and twisted facts.

Make no mistake, the media is the lynch pin of freedom and that lynch pin has been misplaced.

The great savior has been ressurected and without media pressure, still can do no wrong, as the socialist have rewritten the book on ethics, giving their side all the exemptions only thru the media paopaganda machine.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.

Will you hold Trump up to your same personal standard when he trashes his successor on Twitter?

You're kidding, right?

Classless and rude?

Unwritten rules?

Where are my smelling salts?

When Trump accused Obama of wiretapping him, committing a felony, so to speak, I think we moved beyond protocols of courtesy.

TFF.

On another note, we didn't see Bush at much of anything after that pathetic search for WMDs under imaginary furniture. I heard he went off to Texas where he has been painting. He was at the inauguration and looked his old silly self.

I believe Republican presidents stick to the accepted decorum of not being vocal about current presidents, or even their policies (which they will in most cases oppose if it is a D in office).
Up until Bill Clinton, I think it was followed by most modern presidents, (D's & R's) alike. Granted Carter started to become more vocal in later years, but he at least seemed to follow the rule when Reagan & Bush Sr. were in office.
Now with Obama, he has gone beyond the pale, talking about the resistance movement, and bashing Trump on a regular basis. He is also still lecturing us on how to not be so patriotic, which is just another extension of his apology tour we witnessed for his two terms.

I can only imagine how bad Trump will be when he is a retired president, but for now, no one in modern history has been as bad as Obama.
Yet the media does not seemed outraged, and it is in part due to them thinking as Obama does, so what should be legitimate criticism of Obama, is mute.
