Because the unemployment has been trending downwards through Obama's 2 terms. Trump has not accelerated that trend (see chart). Thanks Obama.

Because of Ohio maybe? They voted for Trump. He needs to get these people some jobs.

Ohio unemployment rate 5 percent; state lost 5,700 jobs | cleveland.com

I want to thank the OP for an opportunity to talk about the issue and address what the facts are.

It is important to know that there are parts of the USA where they are struggling, Democrats were heavily criticized for ignoring these people -- especially in Ohio....seems Republicans are ready to do the same now that the votes are in.

That's low.

You aren't going to find CNN giving him much credit for anything, they are too busy attacking him!

Another poster said there was a 10% unemployment rate at one time. In Nevada, in 2009, the unemployment rate hit 14-15%. That was one state that received unemployment extensions for a certain number of weeks beyond the norm. Unemployment hit more than 14% in Nevada and over 12% in Florida.

I'm not really sure what you're saying, but...

If you believe the BLS, it appears that it hit 10% nationally in October 2009.

Maybe President Obama manipulated the numbers, though.

ALL credit goes to Barack.

It was low before Trump was elected. Trump supporters and Trump himself said those numbers were fake. Either they were real then or fake now.

No, the numbers come out of the same office using the same methodology, so it's still fake. That's why no one care about it. We are just following what the orange cheetos commander in chief tell us to do.....

While Trump is certainly making some strides and bringing back some jobs, the overall unemployment rate is still not a result of his policies (implemented or intended). You can thank or curse Obama for much of what you see today.
Additionally, the unemployment rate is much higher than what is calculated anyway, which is one of the reasons I and others knocked Obama for his assertions of lowering the rate as much as he claimed.

Absolutely !!! This country was in the toilet when Obama took over, and thanks to HIS hard work and HIS hard decisions, it has continued to improve for the past 8 years.

Trump has done zero to improve ANYTHING, let alone the economy and jobs. He is simply riding in on Obamas' coat tails and reaping the rewards of what Obama did. But Trumpees will never accept any of that, so why waste our breath ?
