Maybe Trump will post a video tweet with an image of Kim Jong Un's head superimposed on a golf ball that's sitting on the tee just as Trump is taking a big swing.
What incentive or motivation does China have to do anything about North Korea?
China should continue to do nothing very slowly to make the US look weak.
1] Initiate an air campaign to achieve air superiority, while simultaneously attacking Command & Control targets and jamming communications, along with suppressing missile artillery batteries.
2] Land an amphibious assault group on the beaches west of Pyongyang. Land another amphibious assault group on the beaches to the east of Pyongyang.
3] Move US troops forward to the DMZ to block movement of North Korean artillery assets.
4] Reinforce with the 7th Infantry Division.
5] Use B-52s to carpet bomb artillery, while using B-1B Lancers to attack both major highways to block
North Korean troop movements.
6] Hunt down and execute Kim
7] Occupy North Korea until North Koreans choose a form of government and hold elections.
Total time: 2-4 weeks for the ground conflict and 6-12 months to hold elections.
And you forgot the minor issue of hundreds of thousands of Japanese and South Koreans dead.

China sees a chance , along with Germany for world leadership. Keeping NK fully ICBM ready, deters any military action from USA. By keeping Kim Jung Un in power, signifies American power does not extend around the world. Ultimately giving hope to other anti-American forces in the process.
There will need to be another inquiry : this time as to exactly what level and type of involvement between NK and China.
China could be playing it a little bit too cute of late.
America is not heeding the Warnings. Trump has demonstrate it to an even more aggressive posture, that promotes the tonality of even a divisiveness of other Anglo people as well, who are not America. It's quite sad that many of the Right Wing constituency does not care to see, know, understand or take effort to consider these things in the general population. The more Liberal minded in society, know well the need to be of Diplomacy, as well as to embrace what is not only multiculturalism within American, but to embrace it across the nations of the world.
America is finished. Well, lets say America as the empire and order the world looked too. That is over and isn't coming back.. perhaps ever.
Americans are increasingly poor, drug-addicted, hopeless drifters. You can see it all over the nation, in nearly every city and town.
We have just enough virtue left to worry about ourselves, but not enough to solve or fight to win anything. We would lose a Korean war on the ground, through with overwhelming firepower we could prevent North Korea from doing much.
We can't win Syria, we can't win Iraq, we can't win WW2 or 3 should they happen today. No one believes in the country anymore and for very good reason - it's gone. All we have is massive firepower at a distance. Most of our enemies (I should say 'it's enemies' as I could care less too really and won't lump myself as a part of this titanic) already figured that out.
Trump is a small symptom of an overwhelming problem. He may be very good compared to what will follow him. When you think of Americans, you have to think of tattood, drug addicted poverty. That's the majority of the voting block to come assuming the Mexicans go home, which they are.

Good for China and Germany. Someone has to do it. Today is the fourth of July and Americans will commit all kinds of crime, drink and shoot themselves into stupors, and allow 10-50 people to own most everything of value the nation has.
There's a small cadre left ~50 million or so that see the problems but it's too late. North Korea and Iran have nothing to fear from us. We are like a police force in a town in Bankruptcy. Like a fire department that is cutting staff.

China used NK as a bargaining chip. They let NK rampage around and then get perks or concessions for Reining them in.
Agreed 100%, China might be eventually bit by the mad dog they often use to get their way globally.
IMO, Japan needs to think long and hard about having nukes...and aiming them all over China.

Thankfully, we all know he works so well with others.
China is not the country it was during the Korean war. North Korea has become nothing but a burden and pain in the ass to China.
