Donald Trump donates first presidential paycheck to Antietam battlefield - Washington Times

Quote:
Mr. Trump’s first quarter salary of $78,333 was matched by an anonymous donor who gave another $22,000, bringing the gift to $100,000, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said.
Thank you Mr President! What a great thing to do! Has any other President given up their salary to worthy causes?

First--let's see the check. I don't trust the media and I sure as heck don't trust Trump.

Second--this 'billionaire' has never donated money to anything (another reason he doesn't want his tax returns released). This is another stupid PR move--things Donny only does if they are promoted.

Third--I'd be more impressed if he paid for his and his kids travel and vacations, which the taxpayers are footing to the tune of $10 million and counting. We're supposed to be impressed by $78k with all the money he is costing us?

My Great-Grandfather was shot at Antietam. Fortunately, he survived or I would not be posting here. He was 15 years old and enlisted under a Rich Man's Son's Name who wanted to avoid conscription. My GGGrandfather died in a Foundry accident and his son did this to get money to support his Mother and younger Siblings.

Rich Man's Son Donald Trump would have done the same thing to avoid fighting in a war. Spare me, Donald.

That is nice. Say, why don't you look up what President Trump is proposing to do to the budget for these Civil War battlefields, as well as other national parks.

Indeed, at the little ceremony for passing over the check, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke stated:

"We're about $229 million behind in deferred maintenance on our battlefields alone".

So you begin a thread pretending to care about the Civil War battlefields, but only insofar as they serve as a PR vehicle for Trump. Outside of that, you don't really give a damn.

You are such a good little cultist. You emulate your master perfectly.

Why does it bother you so much to say a good word about the President of the United States?

I am pretending? Whatever drew you to that conclusion? I don't really "give a damn"? I do not recall ever proclaiming that I dont care of historic battlefields..

My question is why you are thowing a coniption fit over this?

When it was pointed out to you that the battlefields are woefully underfunded was your response, wow, yes, we really should be funding our battlefields? Nope, it was a snide remark about Obama that had absolutely nothing to do with anything. You fool no one.
