Specifically, the righteous religious use their churches to advance their causes. They campaign for legislators and legislation using tax-exempt church resources.
Why we continue to subsidize churches with their tax-exempt status is beyond me. Quite a few make no bones about being political action groups.
What H.L. did was wrong. What you just did is wrong also. It's hypocrisy that has got us into our mess.
Man's sinful nature required a sacrifice to take the place of all sinners. Jesus did it willingly but knew it was sinful man that required him dying for those who sinned. Everyone who accept Jesus as savior will be his children and reside with Jesus in paradise.
Concept of sacrifice (torturing and killing an innocent so that the guilty can feel free of their guilty conscious) seems evil to me.

You are absolutely correct. But Trump's administration is giving these fake churches the green light to involve themselves as a basic political action committee.
Unfortunately, the fake Christians of today have done more to turn off young people than to bring them in.
Less Americans identify as 'religious' then ever before. Hypocritical churches and fake Christians have only themselves to blame.
I'm so sick of self-righteous Christians trying to shove a cross up everyone's ass, when they don't even live up to thier own standards.
It does tend to get old after a few thousand years or so doesn't it?
