As long as government gets involved in the economy business, we the people will suffer.
My thoughts too ... as it seems the evidence points in that direction.

The Federal Reserve, is the reason a .02 loaf of bread cost $1 - $2.50
The federal reserve is the reason a $20 gold piece is worth $1300-$1400

Is bread still not cheap compared to average wages? Bread is probably cheaper than it's ever been....

Who cares about gold? If it was truly valuable it would serve or be a part of some sort of industrial process outside of currency.

More importantly over that time frame, what happened to our std of living?

Of course the middle class lags these days in wages, but that is an artifact of our capitalism, not the Fed.

But it is . It's used heavily in technology and cell-phones.

But historically, yes it has been used as currency-and up until around 2006 the value was determined by the Rothschilds in London-the same family that helped to create the Federal Reserve banking system.

Really? You get to make the rules on if it's valuable or not? Is that why people are constantly buying and selling gold?

This act of 1913 is the keystone of crony capitalism economics and dysfunctional globalism. The ignorant leftists and progressives like to blame capitalism. Real capitalism is not afflicted with crony economics.
These leftists are so ignorant and/or sneaky that they fail to see and/or acknowledge that this act 1913 and the subsequent effects are the cause of most crony capitalism on a large scale as it stands today. Very foolish people.

Without crony capitalism the MAJORITY of democrats and progressives would be unemployed and very needy.
But notice, most leftists and democrats are still VERY NEEDY.

The progressive ideology is an absolute failure and disgrace.

That is not the point.

The impoverished and the elderly on fixed incomes, pay the price for inflating the monetary system.
It is the hidden tax.
When times are good the banks are rolling in it
When times are bad, the people pay the price, not the banks.

Well, we take care of the poor and elderly and with COL adjustments. Welfare, SS and Medicare.
And of course we take care of our banks. The rich take care of themselves.

The middle class needs the break. And if I were king that break would be through HC benefits.
