Trumpcare increases monthly health insurance for people with skills too. These are the people that pay their full monthly premium with zero subsidy. Trumpcare premium increases are substantial increases for those aged 50-64, compared to Obamacare premiums. Yep - even higher. This means those hard working people with skills that always paid their own way ----well, they will have big premium increases with Trumpcare. They'll still pay their own way, but they'll have to dig deeper into their pocket because of the GOP plan.

The Republicans should be able to do anything they want right now, they control it all from the WH down, but they are finding that it isn't as easy as they thought. They defamed Obama for 8 years for his work, and yet, they haven't been able to pull their own party together to come up with anything better.

They blame the Dems for being obstructionists, but the Dems do not have the votes to really stop anything. It is the Republicans who are stopping their own progress because a lot of Republican Senators can not accept some of the stupid things the GOP wants to pass.

They took control because enough people hated Obama to get them the win, but now they are finding out Obama wasn't all that bad after all. The ball is in their court and they can't seem to get it through that hoop.

Here you go a good description of Trumpcare. We will pay for less and pay some more if you become ill.

I disagree.

Their plan is pass those tax cuts for the 1%ers.

If they could create some money-making opportunities, say upping the military budget, all well and good.

But after years of flogging the national debt crisis tale, they have got to come up with some reason why tax cuts make sense. They've tried the old trickle-down nonsense and nobody is buying it. So now they are going with how much money we'll be saving by kicking millions off health insurance.

It's bound to be a tough sale, particularly for those who will be losing their medical care. Rural areas will really feel the pinch as they are bound to lose hospitals and medical providers.

I bet they had a plan in place for if Hillary won. And it was the same plan they had in place for when Obama won. Just say NO! to everything. Easy-peasy. No thought required.

And you've got to admit, they're really good mindless opposition. And you've also got to admit they suck pretty badly at actual governing.

Because at the federal level, they don't actually believe in governing. They believe in and practice ungoverning.

Repealing environmental and banking regulations.

Gutting the State Department, etc.

...

We all know how we got to this place.

Since the Magna Carter, people have been insisting on the rule of law (government) and the robber barons have been finding their way around it.

Republicans are the knights of the robber barons.

Their goal is ungoverning.

As GOP moves toward repeal, a government report shows Obamacare is working well - Chicago Tribune

And can't wait to see the turnover in 2018!

With so many insurance companies leaving the exchanges how can you not see doom and gloom down the road?

They are but they are in power because the alternative sucked also. I've asked this for years.......when might we see a valid alternative?

The best thing for this country would be for Congress to do nothing. Except maybe just a flat repeal of Obamacare. Go back to what we had 10 years ago. That would be preferable. But the less of the other nonsense they do, the better.

Other than repeal of the ACA, I agree with you. I'm happy the GOP is so incapacitated by their own incompetence. I hope they continue to do nothing. The country will be better off for it.
