A flight attendant broke a wine bottle over the head of a man who lunged for an exit door and fought with other passengers during a Delta Air Lines flight from Seattle to Beijing, but it didn't faze him, an FBI agent wrote in charging papers filed Friday.
Proves... a woman is no match for a man. The Patriarchy lives! LOL! It took a man, to take care of the dangerous situation.
Nah, it proves - if anything - that the flight attendants need more training. An hour into flight, over the Pacific, @ cruising speed & altitude, if the perp opens the door, a lot of people die or are injured, plus there was a real risk the pilots would lose control & worst case, the plane disintegrates midair from pressure imbalance, or the door goes ripping down the outside of the plane, peeling off skin.
Once you break a bottle, you have a nasty weapon in your hand. Given the stakes, she should have immediately attacked. If the perp were a terrorist of whatever stripe, you likely don't have time to wait for someone bigger & stronger & better trained.

Only one? Cannot for the life of me, considering the seriousness of an opened door at altitude, why the whole damn planeload of passengers didn't pile on this azzhat. What were they all waiting for; decompression and a perhaps unrecoverable dive before acting?
