I saw that too, phma , on the news.

With that news clip it said part of the sweep was to crackdown on opioid abuse.
And they busted alot there too.
Sessions said there were waiting rooms of people who would pay doctors cash to get an RX for.opoids.

Way to go Sesssions!

Insurance fraud hurts everyone. There should be consensus that investigating then prosecuting those suspected of insurance fraud is helpful.

But, I offer a very sincere comment:

for over 20 years, whenever I've had conversations with Democrat friends and mentioned the breathtaking amount of government fraud and waste that exists and ask why Democrats don't have concern about it? And why they'd rather tax citizens more money than go after the BILLIONS skimmed off already?

TO A PERSON...every single one has replied, "oh, there isn't that much". Or, "there's always going to be a little."

So, they either willfully have no clue OR could the truth be that they just want to punish successful people? HHMmmm.
(I think it's both)

There is a full write up here. Great to see states working together to take action. the below story provides details of all the regions and other actions.

What we really need to stricter control and to get lobbyists out of DC, the damn lobbyists are damaging the nation, and BOTH parties are responsible for this. Neither gets a pass. This is one area Trumpies, SJWs , dem and GOP need to pull together. end the lobby abuses and dark money and we the citizens will benefit no matter who wins or loses elections.

you anecdote does not reflect Dems. There are vast numbers of dems who would like nothing more than to end waste and to refocus that money into better uses, we are woefully underfunded in many areas. Mental health is one, that could use billions and if a dem or Repub is scamming the system they should be stopped.

I agree with you, evilcart. Except the part about Dems being aware of or caring about it. No, no.....they deny it's a problem, as I've experienced for 2 decades.

When is the last time you heard a major Dem politician speak about an income tax overhaul? Or a review of welfare programs? (Bill Clinton was a looong time ago and Obama likely reversed every bit of good that occurred from that)

It's not just politicians scamming. Not trying to offend you but, see, you don't realize either. Individuals, companies, lawyers, other countries, non-profits, ETC ETC.......all kinds of people are in on the game of soaking Uncle Sugar for whatever they can.

It's a HUGE problem.
