Oldhag had the best take on it. Yeah, wrong and unprofessional. Report it.

But this "emotional turmoil" and I haven't slept in days routine is over the top. She went to the doctor on 7/11 and the news came to her house on 7/13.

If you have eaten aunt jemima pancakes anytime during your life, please surrender your savings and be prepared to be fired from your job or making a living.

If you have committed murder and are now on parole, expect to apply for a job and leave off the part about your criminal act. At least you aren't guilty of eating aunt jemima pancakes.

Class action suit against pancake mix manufacturer, anyone offended since 1889, please call 1-900 lawyers.

AJ was a beloved figure, her pancakes so light and fluffy. A luminary of southern style cooking, like paula dean.
Don't be obtuse. I bet if he had called her Mammy you would have found a way to tell us that isn't racist either.

Get with it, gramps.

Come to think of it I'd like to see the trainee in all of this. We've seen the patient and the doctor (who isn't fresh out of medical school). Maybe he was trying to impress his way into her heart...or at least her pants.

You and NLVGal - get over to the naughty corner.

Waiting for one of the Barney Fifes to proudly announce, 'Reported!' What is up with that?

Personally, I think that doc is on meds. It happens.

In truth the term is not racial but a indication of respect. The people that are portrayed by the term where often the only people that knew how to cook a good meal in the household. They where respected for their abilities and knowledge and considered a family member. A variety of people performed this role across the world and came from a variety of races.

Sort what I was thinking. I assume the offended lady was rotund? Otherwise, I don't get the offense. I think of Aunt Jemima as a sweet, comforting figure, who was part of all our childhoods.

I also think Jemima is a super cute name that is underused for fear of some stupid pc outrage.

How about "Good morning Ms. Carter. How are you today?" as a greeting?

You know, because that's her actual name. How's that for respect?

Sure, slaves were considered family members instead of property, especially the cooking slaves.

I thought she was a dead ringer for Aunt Jemima. And what's so wrong with that? A middle aged woman who's a pancake and syrup magnate is a bad thing? Where's the offense? How many Hollywood celebrities do we see lining up to take a crack at being the best Colonel Sanders lookalike? It's rhetorical. The answer is obvious.

To report and to hurt somebodies livelihood because he said that she looks like aunt Jemima from the pancakes sous or whatever? ? Really?

My wife is an anesthesiologist and not white.

I can't tell you the number of times a white patient - usually an older man - would assume that she was a nurse and then expressed surprise when she said she was a physician. She just took it in stride but she did say that would hardly ever happen when it came to her white female colleagues.

Is this an instance of "subtle racism"?
