The market will decide who succeeds and who fails based on competition. That is how business has always worked. The government needs to butt out.

It's very likely consumers weren't aware of this throttling - but it was happening.
under certain conditions. but the scare here is that ISPs will block consumer access to their online bank account.

that's the charge I was addressing. throttling happens but it doesn't happen the way people are being scared into believing.

The problems started when government got involved and started monopolies.
Hey if you want to talk breaking up monopolies to allow for a more competitive market, I'm all for that. I would have much less of a problem with the repeal of net neutrality if I had 15 different ISPs to choose from. But I don't.

What competition? Most places don't have competition. I have Comcast or ****ty 3mbps DSL, so one real choice.

It's not totally about "blocking", per se - it's more about "paying to play" that is going to be the BIG loss for consumers.

If you're an ISP - this is a big win. There is very little good from a consumer end here.

Free market economics doesn't work in a monopolistic marketplace, John Maynard Keynes.

well, some posters already admitted they have no clue about NN but are still posting here for the sole objective of making fun of others. that's called trolling.

Again, like other net neutrality threads, generally seems to break down in to 2 groups. People who are pro-net neutrality and people who aren't smart enough to understand what it is but are just dumb enough to spout off about it anyway. Three groups if you add in the trolls.
