There is a lot of room between $80k and $800,000k. A start will be getting rid of Wall Streets portion.
Like many things medical and surgical, it might pay to travel overseas for treatment. Aside from knowing the expertise of the foreign treatment, one needs to consider the general health of the patient, and the duration of stay needed abroad. No small matters.
The epipen technology was created by the government. Wall Street got hold of it and jacked the prices through the roof. Our health should not be determined by what Wall Street determines is an acceptable profit.
Much of the research is done in universities. We do not need to stop research by eliminating the Wall Street angle.
Oh ok, epipen, one medical innovation out of literally millions, argument solved.

Not all that many can afford to travel overseas. For those who can, I certainly support them doing that. We had the opportunity to allow us to purchase less expensive drugs out of Canada but both parties and Wall Street shot that down.
How does needing healthcare equate to being a deadbeat? Sorry, no, your social obligation is not to only yourself. If you want that, go live on an island alone.
Right. Everything that happens to one happens to the whole group, society, tribe, whatever you call it. We're all interconnected...and I don't mean it in an esoteric way (although that's true, too)...It's just the way societies work. Health Care is no different.
Fine, its still not an answer. Shutting down Wall St. as you seem to want to do will do significant damage to our ability to continually drive innovation and better health care, it might add to some of the cost, but nothing in this world is free.

Germany is a leader in medical advancement also but they have been able to put this all together for the people. Granted, some of it has been on the back of the U.S. and that has to stop. While we can no longer continue to subsidize Wall Street, we can't continue subsidizing other countries either.
