Or maybe they see pure capitalism as bringing out the worst in humanity, and don't agree with that worldview? Couldn't be that...

It has to be indoctrination. Or the evil socialist boogeyman.

Coming to age during one of the biggest recessions in US history has definitely shaped this generation. It certainly changed my opinion on a great many things.

Capitalism works fine until you run the majority out of money. Just like socialism works fine until you run the rich out of money.

Its not so much that they don't like capitalism. Its that they recognize that, like socialism, it has its own set of problems.

Failed regimes come in many flavors. And not all countries have the same resources or histories. Apples to oranges.

I'll mention that I'm not in favor of full communism - but of course, that's probably the assumption you're making here. Socialism != communism.

You make a good point...A system can work only as good as the moral fiber of a nation.

Very astute opinion.
The best solution is maintaining a balance that doesn't tip the scale to far one way or the other.

BS survey , most people these days are not seeing it as capitalism vs communism.

the survey asked a bad question and got a bad result.

capitalism to a 24 year old means, wall street, banking, profit first people last.

older people see capitalism as freedom of choice, free markets etc. ( Of course that is bollox, our internal markets are not free at all. but that is another thread)

so when you say kids don't believe in capitalism it is simply not true, they do. But they want to see more control over powerful corps that they correctly see as harming their futures.
