The Dems are dragging their feet until 2018 and probably will until 2020 in a "Not my President" stance.
The Reps are dragging theirs out of fear that they will somehow be implicated.

They all oppose Trump when they should be getting together and helping him to pen something good for all of America.
They know a wounded lame duck when they see one. They are going to stay as far away from Trump as possible.

In all my years of following politics I've never seen a president become a lame duck in the first half year of his first term before. Trump really is breaking all the molds.

Mr Trump is not really concerned about good legislation, or taking care of the citizenry, he cares about Donald Trump. He wants congress to hand him something he can take credit for.
Trump has nothing to do with this. It is the responsibility of the Congress to present a bill for him to sign. President Trump has never threatened to veto anything.

But he has promised many things that just aren't happening, he owns each and every one of those promises.

I am not wishing ill on anyone. I'm just calling this like I see it. I predict an implosion of the GOP. With so much in-fighting going on, such an event would not be far-fetching. I am not saying it will happen. I am saying the possibility is there for that to happen. When the President is at war with his own party, that is something to consider.

Anyone want to bet against that they'll be talking about tax reform?

Good points.

There is a fundamental disconnect between what the rank and file voter-supporters want and what the donor class wants. It is like two separate parties under one name.

It is the pundits job to keep the voters in line, like border collies pushing the crowd along.
