I see what you mean about the outsider thing but Carter DID get stuff done.

Carter was a role model for the nation asking us to leave our heat at 65 degrees. Trump is a role model by grabbing women's u know what.

Carter installed solar panels on WH. Trump thinks climate change "a Chinese hoax."

And that's just to start.....

They might be the most opposite presidents ever.

Carter had a strong moral compass that often guided his judgment...perhaps to his detriment on occasion. Congress, as a collective group, is more likely amoral and is motivated by money and being reelected above all else. Trump is not even aware of the concept of a moral compass and is a genuinely immoral person. Trump knows the difference between right and wrong because he is eager to call out others and make judgements but he never applies that knowledge or critical judgement to his own actions. He suffers from a moral defect combined with his narcissism -- a mentally and morally damaged person.

Ditto the above. Even though carter wasn't particularly effective as president, it was clear that he really wanted good things for America. On the other hand... trump? not so much.

<Sarcasm ON> (for those who won't get it otherwise)

But Carter came off as a sissy-wimp, apologetic, and had a boo-hoo and doom and gloom spirit!!! He just wasn't a man...a MAN(!!!!) I tell you! A leader needs to kick ass and take names! Carter was sensitive and squishy soft. Any normal, decent, self-respecting person with strong backbone will tell you that physical forcefulness(or at least [i]personal) is the main yardstick to measure a man's worthiness of even common courtesy, let alone respect!! You can't have that and be even a man, let alone a leader.

Compare that Trump! He's got personal forcefulness! He's got an impressive ass-kicking attitude! He got an image of strength that can intimidate others. So he commands respect from real men who - by definition - recognize how important it is to leadership!

Default Could President Trump be Similar to Jimmy Carter?

Only in the fact that they're American white males who ascended to the presidency.

The comparison stops there.

From this following Wikipedia link you can clearly see why Carter was no Trump: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presid...f_Jimmy_Carter. I quote: "A resumption in growth prompted renewed tightening by the Fed, however, and the prime rate reached 21.5% in December 1980, the highest rate in U.S. history under any President." Many people could not afford a new house or were locked into the higher rates for years and that is why his ratings plummeted. The 1979 energy crisis and the Iran hostage crisis were two other nails in his approval ratings.

I do think that his heart is in the right direction; I just don't think that 'intelligent' people always make the best rulers. Sometimes one can over-think the problem.

You are confusing common decency for wimpiness, and egotistical brattiness for 'personal forcefulness'. And, no, trump doesn't 'command respect' from real men, or from anyone else. Oh wait! You were being sarcastic!

Thank you for the sarcasm disclaimer. I honestly would not have "got it" otherwise because many people around here talk just like this and are 100% serious.

Is this some kind of joke? What's is next; asking if this dictator could be like Kennedy??

Now if you said Putin, you might have something. Oh wait, he already is.
