I read a local news report of a teacher standing on the side of the road trying to get money for her class which she already uses a lot of her money to get school supplies on a paltry $35,000 a year salary. I know that funding for schools is already pretty bad on top of the absurd wages teachers get but when I think what our politicians spend actual big bucks on it's pathetic. We spend over 500 BILLION a year on defense which 99% of the time isn't actually "defending" us in any way shape or form but instead killing people a world away that pose no threat to us and only benefit the 1% elite. Like seriously? Far as I'm concerned most of our politicians are little more than mass-murdering psychopaths that are little better than Ted Bundy, Gary Ridgway, John Wayne Gacy etc.
If it were up to me I would DRASTICALLY cut down what we spend on defense to, I dunno, 4 or 5 billion and redistribute it to things that actually matter such as Education, Mental hospitals, science, welfare etc. y'know, things that ACTUALLY make a difference?? But no, at least as far as politicians in the US are concerned, acting like mass murdering psychopaths and warmongers are what REALLY matter, all to benefit them. Their priorities couldn't be anymore screwed up if they tried.
Most of our politicians love war, have no issue at all spending billions killing poor innocent people, killing innocent infants and children. It's all kinds of disgusting and abhorrent, yet most of our politicians gladly support all of it. Funny how we constantly hear how healthcare, education, help for the poor is always facing cutbacks and lack of money, but we NEVER have a problem massively funding mass-murdering women and children and other people that don't have a damn thing to do with us. Why not cutback on the massive military that doesn't do jack **** on a positive level??
Sometimes it feels as if a benevolent dictatorship would be best. They certainly couldn't do any worse.
Considering most politicians are just Salesmen selling themselves, its no surprise that we have many congressmen and women who have little grasp on the topics they talk about.
I couldn't agree more with your sentiments! Warmongering is a profit driven industry and former General President Ike warned us about the Military-Industrial complex.
Why do we still have tens of thousands of troops & bases in Korea half a century after that war? or in Germany and other countries?
We always seem to have enough money to support these foreign entanglements but we can't find enough money for our crumbling infrastructure or for clean unleaded water in Flint Michigan !
It's crazy that with all of the money we spend on Defense we couldn't stop 19 hijackers with box cutters from mostly Saudi Arabia ( a supposed ally who we sell arms & fighter jets to in the billions ) committing the worst terrorist attack on our soil since Pearl Harbor.
As for the Defense budget it is more than $500 Billion since overseas operations are not included :

Your vote can kill more people than any gun.....
Yet, we have to show ID to buy a gun, but not to vote.
To compound that, the words of the Constitution, say you don't even have to be a citizen, to have your gun rights.
