I didn't like the militarization of the police under Bush, and Obama. They are way to quick to use SWAT tactics, and equipment because THEY HAVE THEM. Heaven forbid they get that stuff taken away. Some of the police have become overbearing, and intrusive. A lot of it is for revenue, and budgets. I can protect myself. I don't need the police.
Add the War or Drug, and the War on Terror, and we are approaching a police state. Billions of dollars wasted also.

Yep. Giving excess military equipment to police was a shockingly dumb idea that of course led to the militarization of the police.
Put very simply, citizen journalism is when private individuals do essentially what professional reporters do - report information.
Yes, report information.
Not interpret information.
Not sensationalize information.
Not distort information.
Not inject opinions or biases into information.
Not inflame information.
"Professional reporters" report both sides of the story. When "professional reporters" offer opinions or analysis, they label it as such. The first thing you learn in Journalism school is the difference between fact and opinion, objectivity and subjectivity, balance and bias, facts and conjecture, etc.
Hope that helps you. All those big words are in the dictionary. Good luck with your "citizen journalism" gig.

Awesome. That's the funniest thing I've heard all day! Make that all month ...

You're right, at least at first. After the ultra-conservative wing of the Republican Party latched onto the Tea Party, its wants had nothing to do with the Constitution.

I'm not claiming to be a "true reporter" whatever that is. I simply said I was a citizen reporter and the right to analyze is within the purview of such. No one has to like or read what is written. There are threads I never click on and I bet others are the same.
It looks like the real objection is connecting liberal rule to anarchy and that is what is proven by the facts and the video.
Anarchy = the condition of a society, entity, group of people, or a single person that rejects hierarchy.
Liberals are the hierarchy being rejected and protested against. Conservatives aren't in power in Minneapolis. The Mayor is a democrat and the protestors have had enough of their rule. They have had enough and took over City Hall and are calling it their house.
No. If you are comparing yourself to CNN, then you are continuing to strain the truth through your own filters of what's the truth or not. You still are not a reporter who is allowing the viewer to decide the truth for himself.
You are stating out front what is truth or lie. You are allowing nobody to form their own opinions without your input involved in the formation.
If you wanted to be non-partisan, you can always disagree with CNN by proving evidence of their lies, and allowing others to judge the matter, but trying to say you are more honest than they by just claiming so is simply just more partisanship on your part. That gives you no more credibility that it gives me or any other person here.
That makes you a partisan with first amendment rights, not a reporter.
Just like I said earlier.
