New York State's Department of Environmental Conservation ("NYSDEC) states baldly that New York State's temperature has risen 2.4°F in the last 40 years. See
Impacts of Climate Change in New York - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation.
As for the alleged NYS temperature increase compare
1969 to
2009 (each year linked). That 40 year period shows
no change at all. Rochester shows no change between
1969 and
2009. Albany shows a one degree increase between
1969 and
2009.
There must be some pretty hefty increases from other parts of the state to make up the difference over 40 years between changeless NYC and Rochester, and little-changed Albany. Maybe NYSDDEC has an agenda? I have argued in
No Evidence of Climate Change (At Least in Chicago or Other Inhabited Areas) that few inhabited areas have reliable records of climate change. The doomsayers point to events in the High Arctic or Antarctica, or Africa, where there are few reliable records over any period of time.
I am tired of "Chicken Little" being used to try to soak taxpayers for money to fund a global "Climate Adjustment" fund as contemplated by the Paris Climate Accords.
