The fast track program was not for minorities, as the OP would imply. It was a fast track for college graduates.
What makes a college graduate so special.

It is insane to think any class of people will have the temperament, intelligence and qualifications to become a cop.

It depends on the individual, not his demographics or level of higher education.

Pure folly to fast track any position which involves the use of a firearm.

Minneapolis deserves to be sued into the red on this colossal "we need diversity!!" f-up.

Currently, we have one police officer of color convicted of murder (right or wrong). Stemming from a plethora of white officers convicted or not for murder.

Appears men of color maintain a healthy advantage mentally, intellectually, physically, emotionally, coupled with superior critical thinking skills over their caucasian counterparts.

Based off recent and historic events blacks prove to be America's premium choice; more importantly supremely qualified for professional positions of authority.

Years of crooked police, treacherous departments, irresponsible commanders, and deceptive media (predominantly caucasian as most of us) - I'm standing for betterment throughout the rank and files of America's professional Authority figures.

As a conservative I'm baffled at our ignorance, quite disheartening to witness the destruction of our America.

I expect the judge to give a short sentence, well, because he is sentencing a cop.........so that is supposed to matter. I could be wrong though.

The Minneapolis police force is a travesty of political correctness. All of it. I worked in Minneapolis and I've lived in the TC my entire life.

People here bring up Tamir Rice as an example of "racist cop gets off for killing a kid." But how many of you know the name Christopher Roupe? He was a 17 year old who got shot and killed while holding a Wii controller by a female officer. Funny how his name isn't bandied about.

No one here used it to show racism. It was used to show that incompetence is the problem, not the color of a person or their sex.

But no one claimed what you are refuting. The (truthful) claim is that this incompetent person was chosen to be a cop because of his ethnicity/race.

There are minority police officers hired all the time. We have one that gets found guilty of being incompetent and the excuse his it's only because he was a minority.

To argue that one has to ignore that other minorities are hired all the time and that there have been other incompetent officers hired.

The problem is not that minorities get hired. The problem is that we do not require enough oversite of who gets hired.

No, no one has claimed that.

He was incompetent because he was incompetent. He was hired because he was of a particular race/ethnicity.

Minorities shouldn't get hired? Racist hiring practices should have simply been allowed to continue? You see nothing wrong with an all white police force when that does not represent the country?
