Dr. Carson and Trump administration take major step to help the homeless in U.S.

The homeless have been ignored long enough. Nice to see that they are beginning to put the homeless in this country into homes - MAGA

The libs on here won't care one iota.

They'd rather the people stay on the street if they thought it would help their dreary party somehow. Sad!

I wish Dr Carson much success in his endeavors.

But I can assure you that many of the professional bureaucrats, whose principal interest lies in a larger Federal program and staff, will fight any efforts for local control (and policing) to the last ditch.

As for the homeless themselves .... they're the last group for whom the long-term (and well-insulated) HUD and HHS power-brokers have any real concern.

I hope Mr Carson does well with this. Good for him. I always kind of liked him.

Glad to hear it. Homeless folks, particularly the mentally ill homeless pose a risk to themselves and the rest of us. The housing first approach has worked in Salt Lake City and I'd love to see it expanded.

Sometimes all these people need is a cheap apartment and someone to drive them to their psych appointments. I like that the bill is flexible and allows communities to spend the money as needed in their communities. The homeless problem in Vegas is different than the problem in San Francisco, etc. so it's important to let the people on the ground have a big say-so in where resources are directed.

having worked with the homeless myself, he money is sorely needed. and good for trump and company that they are putting the money in the hands of the local people instead of trying to run the program themselves. perhaps this will show the liberals, and the rest of the power hungry morons in washington, that the locals are the ones that should be doing many of the programs the federal government does now.
