Under Trump, it's becoming more and more clear that if you aren't a white, heterosexual evangelical Protestant, you no longer matter in this country. I really wonder how far this is going to go. Are we headed for a situation like Russia where gay pride parades will no longer be legal? Are we headed for a national "don't ask don't tell" policy regarding sexual orientation?

I get it conservatives. Your holy book says gay people are abominations before God. We are also no longer under the law of Moses and the Mosaic covenant does not apply to America as a nation. Why not let God be the judge?
why is the DOJ even filing, surely they should just let the court decide without sticking their oar in.

"Fortunately, courts will decide whether the Civil Rights Act protects LGBT people, not an Attorney General and a White House that are hell-bent on playing politics with people's lives," said James Esseks, director of the ACLU's LGBT & HIV Project, in a statement. "We are confident that the courts will side with equality and the people."

Because it's their job to make sure Federal Law is upheld. Title VII, specifically cited in the case, is a Federal Law.

The Federal Civil Rights Act has no protections for LGBT Status. Even LGBT Advocacy Groups know that:
Quote:
"...in many states, a person could marry someone of the same gender and then get fired for being gay. "Most states have no nondiscrimination protections for LGBT people," says David Stacy, government affairs director for the Human Rights Campaign, a national gay-rights group. "With limited or no federal protections, an LGBT person can get legally married in most states, but then be evicted from an apartment and denied a home loan."

They did it on the same day they kicked transgenders out of the military. They didn't need to do it, they chose to do it because Trump is going after the LGBT.

you should not be allowed to discriminate against people because of sexual orientation at all, as far as transgender go not sure what rights their being denied and what their fighting for. Unless you tell transgender people(being that their mentally ill not saying being mentally ill is a bad thing)that they cannot get any civilian job, buy a house, service at a restaurant, or be denied life threating surgery and important hospital or doctor visits, or a funeral, but telling them can't choose what bathroom, or serve in the military, choosing not to date personally because who they are is not discrimination

She. You refer to a fellow human being, who is made in the image of God the same as you are (Let Us make mankind in Our image.) as a something...a thing...and you call yourself a Christian. Love your neighbor, K.

That was incredibly hard to read and process coming from you. I am sure you know why.

No one still answers, if gays are not a federally protected class, as the supreme court judged in their favor in obergefell, lawrence, and romer v evan.

You have a role where your information does not match the applied reality.

Sometimes I agree. Other days I think it makes as much sense as protecting anyone who is a cryptobiologist.
