Lots of people don't like their boss.

The GOP in congress are not populist.
President Trump is and the people who elected him know that.
Naturally they want a status quo, non disrupter like Pence. The people who support Trump don't.

No. That was Obama giving the Dreamers things he shouldn't have. Law requires our laws be upheld. Trump's on it and will get it done.

Respect for the rule of law means appreciating and supporting the operation of an INDEPENDENT judicial branch of government. When Trump fires and pressures prosecutors to influence their investigative actions, it's clear that Trump wants the judicial branch to act on behalf of his own self-serving agenda. Prosecutors are supposed to work INDEPENDENTLY, not check with the White House's political agenda on who to indict.

Trump claims that he's the victim of politicized investigations by the FBI. That's a diversion. The exact opposite is the truth. He's the perpetrator of politicization of the FBI. The FBI has real data about Russian interference in our elections, and it's doing its job in following up on that; Trump meanwhile is clearly trying to obstruct justice in his actions with Comey and now with Sessions.

For any President with even an average appreciation for the rule of law, firing Comey would have been unthinkable and Sessions' recusal would be obvious and welcomed, not scorned. Only reason Trump doesn't like it is because he wants Sessions to meddle with the investigation, and even Sessions has more integrity than that.

Look, I'll go ahead and accept your arguments that Hillary sucked and that Obama was the pits and that liberals are crap. Fine. But none of that changes the reality that Trump's reckless disrespect for the independence of our key governmental checks and balances is a great danger to our nation, whether you are a liberal or a conservative. Respect for the rule of law and the independence of our judicial branch used to be a core principle of our government. If this guy has his way, the justice department will function as a biased pawn of the President - which is what they do in dictatorships, not democratic republics.

Sure, Obama did a lot of bad things. Trump is doing even worse things. You cannot be a supporter of our Constitution and a supporter of Trump; the two are mutually exclusive.

The FBI never inspected the DNC server (exhibit A in any real investigation) because the DNC refused to allow anyone to see it except for Crowdstrike. Crowdstrike was hired by the DNC to investigate the breach of security and report their findings to the FBI. Crowdstrike concluded that the Russians did it and reported this opinion of theirs to the FBI. The server was then (apparently) destroyed. Now we are to believe that Russia did, in fact, hack the DNC server because the company hired by the DNC says so. We are also to believe that Trump colluded with Russians to hack this now-destroyed server, though no evidence links him to such alleged activities.

How about you add to this discussion by not misrepresenting the relevant facts.

Trump has no respect for the rule of law. What Trump is engaged in, as Gary Kasparov has tweeted, is "autocratic distraction".

https://twitter.com/Kasparov63/statu...79662395920384

The LBGT military ban was nothing more than a distraction from investigations into Trump's criminal conduct. Kasparov should know about autocrats given his war with Trump's dominatrix Putin.

His base mindlessly follows where the Trump leads them.

Trump's contempt for the rule of law is also mirrored by many of his supporters who put Trump above the Constitution. His supporters are so blind they can't see the formation of a cult of personality that Trump is ostensibly creating and which they are bending their knees.

Trump is only a danger to the ruling elite cabal in the media and DC that have run the country for too long. #MAGA.

The Constitution is whatever people say it is.
Liberals say one thing.
Conservatives another.
The Judicial branch another.
The Executive branch another.

Personally I'm tired of the entire game. I really am. Just live your life people and try to better yourself and don't worry about the games going on in Washington.

Indeed.

It seems everyone is keen on selective enforcement of the law these days.

The perspective on if it's OK or not is only affected by whether you agree or disagree with the issue at hand.
