I was talking about Syrian refugees....

18,007 Syrian refugees were resettled in the United States between October 1, 2011 and December 31, 2016.

"Canada has a miltary?"
How sad that Americans are unaware of somebody that has stood by them in so many military conflicts.

Canada has a military with a very proud tradition. I'm sure that many members of the US Armed Forces who have fought alongside the Canadians would attest that the Canadians can be very effective members of a fighting force.

As for Canadian transgenders in the Canadian military--about 20 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Sgt. Sylvia Durand, the first in the Canadian Forces to undergo SRS. Sgt. Durand was very nice when we met, but I also got the feeling that she was not somebody to be trifled with--all the military training was there, and I got the impression that she would be as effective in the field as he was.

Put it this way... I respect a transgendered veteran MUCH more than Donald Trump, who not only ran away from service like a little ***** but then also made fun of those who had the courage to go and endure what he never could.

Don't let the toxicity of politics today ruin our friendship. We rely heavily on eachother. I wouldn't have any other neighbor, even though I despise Trump.

Let's have a beer and forget about all this nonsense politics. I love Americans.

I have no problem with Canada. As I near retirement, I even consider relocating. Canada seems to be more like the country that I used to think the US was.

I suspect that the current US policy failures will actually be beneficial to Canada.

Now if I can only figure out how to make sure that the IRS gets as little as possible on my way out! LOL

It is a fact that US economic growth is under severe pressure from extremely low population growth.

Our population growth is half what it was in the 1950's when our GDP was double what it is today.

We produce enough homegrown meth heads and criminals to easily offset criminally inclined immigrants. The only difference is we cannot "vet" the one's who are born here.

And half our current population growth is from immigration. US immigrants are, by the numbers, younger and better educated than native born. Without encouraging immigration, demographics guarantee our economic growth will be dismal.

No population growth, no household formation, no consumer demand...

Ain't that the truth! The man took another man's Purple Heart!

How ANY veteran can support him is truly astounding.
