Yes, the pool of people willing to be undermined, second-guessed, insulted on Twitter and then fired for actually attempting to display a semblance of ethical behavior is likely to be shrinking. But, that only means more "second string" players to come!

There are some in the White House who know that if they can just survive long enough, opportunity will come along once he's gone. Others, who have been there for their entire careers, just want to ride Trump out and get the time they need to finish up and retire in peace.

It seems that only those who are like him would do so. Initially, some in that environment must not have realized what they would be in for, but we see how some eventually have. For one to enter that environment at this stage or beyond, is pretty unbelievable and says a lot about them.
