It's not about political correctness, it's about showing respect for the flag which thousands of people have lost their lives fighting for, and love of country. Conservatives have ALWAYS valued that.
Most of these players could care less and are just following the crowd. Just more drama and politics being injected into sports where it doesn't belong. These guys make millions and are going to be little babies. Of course now we play the blame game that it is all President Trump's fault. Grow up!!!! Sheep will be sheep!!!
That can't have been easy for him to walk out alone while the rest of his team hid in the tunnel.
Hopefully, they won't punish him for that.
The Seattle Seahawks will remain in the tunnel also - BUT they made it clear why they are doing so.
They are opposing the loss of their Basic Freedoms ....... poor little snowflakes. The multi-millionaire sports Kings have no "Basic Freedoms".
Well here' is one new family which moved to Washington which won't be buying their tickets this season.
I imagine there are hundreds more.
My DW says that their statement is balanced but they are still cowed by the people who will take a knee. Play football!!
They are just PATRIOTIC AMERICANS. Exercising their right to free speech. They are using a venue that is available to them and sends a stronger message than just posting on a forum or an interview that very few would see.
We white people don't have a lock on that.
Why can't we just fire trump for his unpatriotic rhetoric? GET THAT SONOFABITCH OUTTA HERE!
Has the OP ever interacted with people of color.? DOUBTFUL
I am ¨of color¨ as you state.lol And I don't agree to kneel at a football game during the national anthem. I'm paying to see the game, not a protest. Take it out front and kneel there. It's not like the media won't follow them anywhere they want. Take it down to the ghetto and kneel around there, at night, without a police escort in plain clothes. lol
Were you people this offended when some NFL players actually commit crimes, such as punching out their fiancee in an elevator or being part of a dog fighting racket? Somehow, I doubt it. But silently kneeling for 2 minutes prior to a game starting, NOW you're outraged.

And one of the most important things that flag stands for, and one of the most important things those military people have lost their lives for, is to protect the notion and right of freedom of speech. It's curious so many conservatives go to such lengths to defend a nation whose most important tenet is freedom of speech ... by telling other people they have no freedom of speech.
let's pretend on the lowball number the NFL losses 25% of their fans and revenues and NFL Sunday Ticket overall......the NFL will NOT be fine......try again.
Based on empty stands in many cases, 25% seems conservative and devastating.

I have family members who have given their last full measure of devotion to this country. I am fine with anyone expressing discontent. Just fine.
I saw this "mental patient" for what he is as early as hearing about his first insult as candidate.*
No matter how much you detest someone, deliberately hurling insults at lots of different kinds of people is not a sign of a fit leader. Fit leaders know that proper calling out of opponents does not involve nasty tones and nasty content - they stick to the substance of their beef with the establishment and the candidate or cultural opinion-maker. While McCain and maybe O'Donnell could be fair targets in some contexts, his attacks in both style and substance were highly inappropriate (fat pig, slob, "like my heros never captured", etc).
If Demagogue Donald's gonna keep being true to my moniker, then other public or semi-public figures (in this case, athletes) have a right (if not obligation) to speak out against him.
*I didn't pay jacks attention to Trump's doings at all before he became a candidate - not even his TV show (I rarely watch TV anyway). Had I done so, I'd've seen him for what he is much earlier than his first major insult as a candidate.
I agree with you about McCain, but not Rosie.
Additionally, she started the feud with Trump.
(FWIW, I like McCain (but think he would have been a terrible President), and I dislike both Trump and Rosie).
A POLITICAL PROTEST DURING THE ANTHEM IS INAPPROPRIATE
FYI : An anthem is not about politics nor political.
To protest the anthem is to protest patriotism, not the political system.
That is just wrong.
So, if an audience member at a game or other event didn't stand up during the anthem, what should be done?
Evict them from the game for not being patriotic?
Arrest them for not being patriotic?
