Coach Tomlin says he won't play politics so they will skip the whole thing. Guess what? You just did play politics.
The team should be given a delay of game penalty and fined for not being on the field on game time ready to play as stated in the NFL rulebook. A forfeit would even be better.
i am a conservative, and i have had relatives fight for this country, and i too am ultimately fine with how people want to express their viewpoints as long as they dont violate the rights of others in doing so.
as i have pointed out though, that there is a right way and a wrong way to protest. karpernick protested in the wrong way. he drew attention to himself rather than his cause. if i were kapernick, i would have gone to the talks shows, the news shows, set up town hall meetings, talked to government officials, etc. and made my case to the people in a proper manner. had he done that, we wouldnt even be talking about people kneeling during the national anthem, or if it should be played at sporting events or whatever.
instead we would be talking about the issues that kapernick wanted to bring up instead.
People not having a knee jerk reaction to it are discussing the issues. Instead of saying he shouldn't be doing it, ask why he's doing it.
They don't hate America,they don't like Police killing unarmed Blacks in the streets .
Nobody likes police killing any unarmed people regardless of their skin color.
And most of us don't like people hating our flag. The same flag that is draped over the casket of dead soldiers who fight to preserve our freedom to earn millions playing football.
There are other ways to display your hatred of cops.
It's not about political correctness, it's about showing respect for the flag which thousands of people have lost their lives fighting for, and love of country. Conservatives have ALWAYS valued that.

Conservatives value the military-industrial complex, not necessarily the men and women who died in the wars they promote.
If Conservatives actually valued the men and women who risked their lives in military service, the VA would be the best funded operation in the country.
