Seattle should secede along with California. Nobody would miss either.
Except that's not going to happen. I know some people want to see that happen. However, it will not likely happen. Most of these "secession" movements are being signed by a few disgruntled individuals. Nice try, but no cigar.

The photo of John Middlemas was posted to Twitter by a younger relative at about 9:30 a.m., a few hours before numerous National Football League players knelt while the national anthem was played.
"My grandpa is a 97 year-old WWII vet & Missouri farmer who wanted to join (with) those who #Takeaknee: 'those kids have every right to protest,'" wrote Brennan Gilmore as a caption to the photo of Middlemas.
I'll go ahead and take this for the team. I'm a Seahawks fan. And I am not ashamed of it. And comes from someone living in the Atlanta area, where the Falcons play. Why? I pull for Seattle sports teams. My user name is green_mariner for a reason.
Color me "shocked".

I'm sorry but when did we our first amendment rights get taken away from us. What is wrong with a peaceful protest.
1st amendment means the government can't arrest you for "peaceful protest". However, a private employer, e.g. the NFL, can enact work rules about what one can say on company time. Here's a good post from the Pittsburgh forum:

If the NFL wanted to fine or otherwise sanction the players for kneeling, it could. After all, the NFL did not allow players to wear shoes commemorating 9-11 or other events/incidents.
I'm sure this will be unpopular, but, I would suggest that the National Anthem not be played before sporting events.

That's true. On some other forums I chat on, the non-Americans are always scratching their heads as to why the national anthem is played at a sporting event in the US.

I'm not protesting anything. I just don't make a big deal out of football players taking a knee. If American flags get burned, then I will be angry. Right now, I just don't make a big deal out of it. I've never been to an NFL game. I've mostly watched them on TV.
