I'm sorry but I'm not going to believe that Asians, the most affluent members of America, are going to secretly discuss with blacks their accounts and feelings about racist America while keeping these sentiments completely hidden from all members of the white segment of society. Forgive me if I do not believe that. So, since my original questions and viewpoints apparently are not going to be honestly addressed, that concludes this conversation.
Kaepernick was being ostracized. Trump has turned him into a movement leader for opposition to Trump. I don't know why that is so hard to see. It is the classic law of unintended consequences.
Did anyone on the left "clearly" speak out against Kaepernick? No, some even continued with taking the knee. Did anyone on the left speak out against it? No, So Trump did. Oh so you're admitting it. Trump practiced free speech? And the left doesn't like Trump or his right to free speech and thought?
And now many are practicing their right to protest against the left's insistance of taking a knee.
Here we go again. Rather than address what I said you feel this incredible need to spin what I said. Why can't you just discuss this honestly?
They do and I do not believe that is right either but how would you feel knowing that the guy in charge of protecting your property feels this way about you?
I imagine that like here the volunteer fire dept has to do a lot of fundraisers. How much do you think they are going to be able to raise from the black community when the department is being led by this guy?
Do you tell these Asians that their "distrust" of white people is exactly the same problem that is accused of white people concerning blacks... a lack of trust for an entire demographic? While allegedly secretly discussing racism with these various Asians, did you suggest that they are guilty of that same brand of racism that is blamed on whites? I'm curious.
Why would I do that?
Why would I lecture someone instead of listening and showing empathy?
I'm also smart enough to know when folks discuss racism they aren't literally saying ALL white people.
Only those who are racist should feel any type of blame when they hear someone talking about racism.
If you aren't racist why would you feel like you were being attacked?
I can't speak for others, but for me it is just that I don't want the aggravation of being forced to think about politics during my relaxation, and entertainment time. I just don't want the heartburn. Also, I could go to games, or talk sports with someone that was opposite me politically, and we'd laugh, have a good time, and get along. Now, the politics are "in your face", and I just don't want to see it at that time.
So you would choose not to watch something you enjoyed when you could simply not watch a few minutes at the start of a game or use a "mute" button. Got it. In addition, what I'm seeing are people allowing someone they claim to be a moron (Colin Kaepernick) control their actions (even more interesting ).
No, it is the players who are exercising free speech, is it not?
Trump can say what he wants, but words have consequences. Trump should think before he tweets.
Words and actions have consequences. Keep taking the knee and you already know the consequences paid by the fan base who's paying their salaries. No one is forcing the fan base to pay to listen or watch it
