Since I've never really cared for football, I honestly hope this latest controversy turns out to be an example of what happens when folks exercise their right to expression... all the while not understanding that other have that same right--including the right to close that all-important wallet.

This. Football is a dumb sport. Would honestly be thrilled if it collapsed.

Pretty much. Just hate it when hypocrites think that only they have free speech and nobody else. Oh and, the constant cultural obsession with what black people do or say

Who cares about a scumbag payday lender. People that run those businesses are the lowest of the low.

That businessman might pull his ads, but someone else might come forward.

I think it's interesting.

People who are so-called "constitutionalists" want to take away someone's right to peacefully protest, just because it offends them. Remember the Charlottesville protests? You don't have to like it, but respect their right to do it? Remember Kim Davis? Who not only protested at work, but took it a step further and refused to do her job.

Speaking of offending, people who make fun of liberals and their safe spaces are doing the same thing. Football is their safe space, whether they want to admit it or not. Of course, they don't mind the CTE/concussion issues or domestic violence, but somehow kneeling is too far. It's disrespectful to the flag. But never mind the confederate flag, flag shirts, bikinis, beer cans, etc. That doesn't count.

Oh yeah, the flag. The same people who get upset when someone says, It's just a flag", are pretty much the same people who tell anyone who gets upset at the use of the n-word, "It's just a word".

Lol.

while this is drop in the bucket, it just might be the start of a number of businesses doing the same thing. and yes there are big corporations that will buy up the ad space, but as the fans really going to want to watch three or four companies commercials all the time? can you really watch 20 coca cola commercials in one game?

no one wants to take away peoples rights to protest peacefully, that isnt what this is about. they are in fact protesting the protesters choice of when and where they protest, but apparently you seem to have a problem with that. so perhaps YOU are the one that wants to take away the rights of those that want to peacefully protest when it offends you.
