Funny thing is that minorities have been accusing white people of doing that for years and looking down upon them.
Yep. That's how it's been. Should have picked your own cotton.

It doesn't have the same meaning to the downtrodden. That's like saying the Jews should have respected the German flag under Hitler. It's cloth. If the GOV isn't doing the right thing the flag shouldn't be blindly worshipped. Simple as that.

now you are comparing the American flag to the Nazi flag?

The flag is much more than politics and your personal feelings.......like I said you have the right to be ignorant.

Nobody is going to stop watching "in solidarity with Trump". It started before him and they are going to stop watching because they are looking for an escape from politics and other social issue crap and they can't find it anywhere. Video games, comics, movies, television and now sports. It's one of the most annoying social trends I've seen in my life, and it's not doing a damn thing to help whatever cause these people are pushing. All it's doing is making people angry so there is no way it ends well.

Trump tweets for a purpose and this purpose is to bring this to a head. We have precious few things that can actually UNITE us in this country and being American, the Flag, the Anthem should be where we all find our common ground. I'm pretty sure if that's taken away we can all kiss our asses goodbye.

Spectator sports have long been a surrogate, a substitute for nationalist and tribalist energies in America; a harmless, racially inclusive way for people to indulge in the us vs. them mentality. If these race-centric millionaire black athletes manage to ruin that for average-Joe white Americans, they might not like what replaces it.

It is, if you think America is like Nazi Germany. And if that's your message, don't expect much support from American sports fans.

What they're doing is as American as apple pie...
I think traditional Americans want to embrace dissent in the name of free speech and accept harsh criticism of the government as "the American way". But there are limits to how much flag, anthem and statue bashing people will tolerate. At some point most will stop watching and buying tickets.
