In a word loyalty.

Trump believes military can still be loyal no matter what.

I don't understand this. Kelly was terrific in the DHS job. Now they want him to herd cats? Also, if Trump left Kelly at DHS he could just replace Priebus. Now he has to go through Congress to replace Kelly at DHS.

considering all of Trump's general picks passed the confirmation process with flying colors, it might not be that hard

Two things about General Kelly.
1. He can out cuss moocher ten times over; profanity is a USMC family value.
2. He will enforce a chain of command in the white house and be gatekeeper. Fun to see how that works with mooch trying to go straight in to the oval office. If mooch bad mouths him in the press Kelly will smack his ass into next month.

The white house is filling up with generals and millionaire businesspeople, and of course lawyers. Odd.
It's the new swamp. Same as the old swamp.

Homeland Security was a good place for Kelley. They still obey orders there.

He will rue the day he took his new job on... no one in the White House is going to obey his orders if they don't like them, and he's not the top dog there. The first time he crosses Bannon or Jared he will understand the folly he fell into.

Odd. I thought Priebus felt blessed to serve Donald.
