Even ultra liberal Mother Jones gets it, but the comments after the article clearly show most liberals don't and are more than happy to remain smug, self righteous and intolerant, just like CD.
Less Liberal Contempt, Please – Mother Jones

Fortunately the Democrats show all signs of continuing to push further left and will continue to alienate most of the country and remain a minority in government.

They want to change. They really do.
They just haven't figured out how.
How to get what they really want, which is complete government control over the lives of people.
Then tell them at the same time they are for freedom and their ideas are what Americans stand for.

They have a new sales pitch called "A Better Deal" after consideration "MAGA" is that better deal.

It's all in the US Constitution and Case Law.

They want STATISM, and Globalism, and think government, and higher taxes that WE pay, are the answer to everything. Meanwhile, the elite that has sold them this bunk, further consolidates wealth, and power in the hands of the few.

Read the article. And right after the author of the piece said liberals should stop being condescending and insulting towards conservatives I read this:

"It goes without saying—which is why I need to make sure to say it—that the whole point here is to broaden our appeal to people who are just a little bit on the conservative side of center. That is, persuadable, low-information folks who agree with us on some things but not on others."

The gist of the article is good but yea, it was heavily sprinkled with the same academic condescension that has become the tone of the liberal left. The narrative that non-liberals are all uneducated is just ludicrous.

As a lifelong liberal and two-time Obama voter myself who swung to the Libertarian party in large part due to the low depths of smug righteousness and obnoxious hectoring that the Dem Party has taken, I'm here to say that people like me will never make our way back as long as the Democratic Party is sustained only by attacking and demeaning the other half of America. It's a god damn temper tantrum, not a political platform.

That was pretty funny.

They really cannot help themselves and in fact come across as far more stupid than the people they call ignorant, uneducated, and low-information.

The bottom line is that extremists are all the same whether or not they are left or right.
