It is, but rest assured no matter what Trump does to them, it will be "Obama's fault." Remember, in the land of Cult 45, Obama was somehow responsible for the Housing Bubble peak in 2006 and the crash in 2008. Then, he magically vanishes from the record during the economic recovery from 2010 to 2016. Now, somehow, all of that is Trump's blessings to America, except when we go into another recession, which will somehow be Obama's fault even though he'll have been out of office for months or years by then.

Cult 45 doesn't care about the facts.

I love this line.

"Good news. It ultimately won’t do much good for the Democrats, who will lose a significant part of their white working class base to the Trump faction. More broadly, this will radically destabilize the two-party system, making it possible for new parties and new ideas to break out. A socially conservative, economically nationalist party would be the natural home for many Americans. The Buchananite party would finally emerge."

I don't believe a "Buchananite Party" will ever be a majority party or that Trump or Pat Buchanan would be its leader. I believe the factionalism within the GOP now will leave it vulnerable to Democrats taking over Congress in 2018 and the presidency in 2020. I sometimes wonder if some Republicans are more comfortable being the minority party since they don't seem to want to govern.

Contrary to his claims, Trump does not seem like a very good leader/manager or negotiator/deal maker. He's still the best choice that was available and much better than Hillary and the Democrat candidates. We'll never vote for the anti-white, globalist and open borders Democrats or neo-cons.

This assumes a small percentage of Republicans have some scruples. While this is true - the question is whether it is 5% or 10% or if the leadership even goes through the formalities of allowing it to start.

Once it starts "Two-thirds of the Senate must vote for impeachment in order to convict. " - that's a tall order...meaning that 15 or so of the GOP Senators must have a conscience. By my count, maybe 10 do....

Impeachment would just be a circus unless the votes are there. Or, who knows, maybe it will force Trump to resign.

Big deal. Then we have Pence and Ryan and McConnel running the country. All of whom exist in their positions due to the same forces (Russian, Comey, etc.) that put Don the Con in.

If Trump ends up convicted of Felonies, I'd move to see him in jail - but the reality is that he will likely be pardoned, therefore proving that you are best off committing very large crimes rather than the smaller ones that get you thrown in jail.

Nope, he isn't.

Congress is the final authority. Presidential vetoes can be overridden, and laws can be put into effect w/out a presidential signature.

Of course, it takes a bipartisan centrist bloc to do that. A great irony if it's Trump that is finally responsible for breaking up the rabid partisanship that has taken over Congress.

An independent Trump separates from the Republican Party

I don't see it that way.

I see Donald pushing the Republican agenda 100%.

The fact that he cannot get along with some Republicans means little as Trump has a hard time getting along with anyone he isn't related to.

In a sense I can agree with you.

Many of his promises, or pledges to the voters, were Democratic in substance and contrary to the Republican party line of decades. But as far as what he has done since gaining office, he has supported the rich and super rich all down the line, a policy which is pure Republican at it's core.
