Having spent a good deal of my life around some truly tough guys, I can tell you for a fact that the they never carry on about it. Why would they?

It's the cowards and weasels who are always talking tough.

Shame on you for trying to pretend that we do.
Read the links. Police chiefs and individual police across our great country are distancing themselves from Trump's destructive comments.

You all are intentionally misrepresenting (or fail to comprehend) what Trump said.

He never suggested police brutality, as is claimed.
He never suggested roughing anyone up, as is claimed

He suggested that a prisoner (as he said in his example, someone who just killed a person, an act that was witnessed), that such prisoner should not be coddled.

Do none of you know the difference?

Why don't you just read what he said instead of translating it according to your own biases.

LOL!

Trump just held a 20,000 person rally in Ohio. Comments from a few select police depts /= the United States.
Neither does 20,000 self-selected people in a rally.

20,000 self-selected? How so?

How long does it take to select and process 20,000 people?

Do you not know the difference?

1 - People are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

2 - Punishments for the various offenses are set by the legislatures and formalized in the court.

3 - The police have no right to usurp the the prerogatives of the people's legislators or the court. Their job is to serve and protect. Law enforcement can not be allowed to dispense judgment on their own, every person deserves their appearance in court and protection in the hands of the police. 'Roughing up' suspects is actually the crime of assault. The hand over the head is not "coddling", but protection.

Every law enforcement officer knows this, whether they personally like it or not, that is how it must be in our republic. President imbecile doesn't understand it.

The sources cited here and elsewhere are liberal. Did you expect quotes by people who support Trump?

Liberals always pick liberal newscasters, liberal reporters, liberal commentators. How often have you (if ever) seen a quote on MSNBC from the Washington Times? The NY Post?

It's always the Washington Post and the NY Times that gets played and replayed. Our standard operating procedures today are supposed to be governed by political correctness (as defined by liberals), and none of our liberals are going to suggest that what is being parroted does not reflect what Trump said.

They're firmly on the p.c. bandwagon, whether it works or not, because a huge segment of society (especially those who pay their salaries) expect that by edict.
