It's been said on here many times in debates that illegal aliens do not get any type of free healthcare. They say that the kids might, but the adults do not.
Medi-Cal is a health insurance program for low-income residents of California. As your local health plan, San Francisco Health Plan offers an excellent and large selection of doctors, hospitals, and clinics. Almost every doctor or clinic that accepts Medi-Cal is part of our network, so chances are you can continue to see the doctors you know and trust.
Comprehensive health insurance paid for by federal and state government 50% of cost paid by federal government (CMS)
50% of cost paid by state government
Each state submits a plan for providing Medicaid coverage to CMS, so each state is slightly different
In California, Medicaid is called Medi-Cal
It's not just CA residents who are paying for illegals to have free healthcare.
Once again, the left has lied about what benefits illegal aliens get in this country.
The over $300 million consisted of nearly $112 million in CalWORKs (welfare) and $192 million in CalFresh (food stamps). At this pace, the total cost for the year will again exceed $600 million.
More than 20% of the County’s public welfare funds are spent on illegal immigrants. In addition, taxpayers spend more than $550 million on public safety, $500 million on healthcare, and hundreds of millions on education to support illegal immigrants in Los Angeles County.
“Illegal immigration continues to cost County taxpayers nearly $2 billion dollars a year and siphons resources away from vital municipal services for legal immigrants and county residents,” said Supervisor Antonovich.
Anyone who supports this clearly has an agenda that is against the United States of America. They are traitors to this country.
Anyone who lives near the border knows that illegals get free care in the ERs. Heck, they often cross the border just to get care. And ICE is not allowed to arrest them on the hospital grounds. We need to end this madness.
This isn't the E/R. This is actual healthcare, for free, paid for by everyone else. This is doctor's appointments in clinics, (read the links I provided). This is so much more than Emergency Room care.

Yeah, I know. The thing with the ERs is, depending on the situation, they can get referred to a specialist and get surgery for free. Well it's not exactly free, it's on us. So it doesn't really matter if they are enrolled in a program, they still get care regardless. Their socialist system south of the border must not be to great.

The numbers in just California, in just LA county alone, are phenomenal
One of the big reason so many were angry at health care reform because it takes away free medical for illegals and alot of states are needing the federal subsidy to medicaid or medi-cal in this case.
" The Senate, however, would limit participation in the exchanges to U.S. citizens. The House would allow legal immigrants who aren't citizens to buy through the exchange, but would deny them federal subsidies. Neither version makes any provision for undocumented immigrants.
40% of LA county is on medicaid.
Because nearly 30% of all Californians -- as opposed to just 11.1% of all U.S. residents -- were born in another country, the statewide implications become a little clearer. Moreover, a UCLA study found that 20% of the 5.3 million Californians without health insurance in 2007 were not U.S. citizens. In other words, if something close to the Senate version of reform passes, at least 1 million residents of this state will be denied coverage.
Narrow the focus to L.A. County and the picture becomes much bleaker. This county has more uninsured residents than any other local government in the country -- somewhere around 3 million, according to the best local estimates. Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who has long been deeply immersed in the healthcare issue, likes to point out that "if Los Angeles County's uninsured were their own county, they'd be the third-largest county in the United States."
It's a safe bet that the majority of those people are immigrants, because health officials say that 40% of all the patients treated at county hospitals are undocumented. In recognition of that fact and of the hospitals' legal and ethical responsibilities to treat the uninsured ill and injured -- regardless of their immigration status -- Washington currently subsidizes their care at facilities, like L.A. County's, with "disproportionate" numbers of such patients."
