ObamaCare is a waste of tax payers money. The reason why the GOP only pretends to want to "repeal" it but NEVER do is because they Profit the most from it. Isn't it funny that the GOP controls the Senate but for some strange reason, they cannot get together to repeal the Pyramid Scheme which puts billions of Tax dollars to greedy Conservatives?

It's a pyramid scheme. Diverting billions of CA tax money and putting it in the pockets on Greedy Insurance Companies.

With the Single Payers Plan, the Govt pays the Doctors directly. No need for the Greedy Middle Men (aka Insurance companies).

And this is why Republicans on pretend to want to repeal ObamaCare while laughing all the way to the bank. At our expense.

Nice how you immediately divert into politics instead of actually focusing on the terrible plan you're trying to defend. No, Single Payer does not make sense for CA or the country for that matter unless you think it's cool that the Middle Class should have to pay even more for health care insurance. I don't give a F if the plan presented is a Republican or a Democratic plan, having to pay close to $3K more for health care insurance is unacceptable. Roughly 90% of the country get their insurance from the government or an employer and the average that is paid is $5k. Why in the world should anyone sign off to pay more for the benefit of the other 10%? That's the same BS thought process that got us Obamacare. Focus on the ones it helps and throw the ones it hurts under a bus and pretend they don't exist. Sorry, no.

I hate to bust your bubble but your reasoning as to why it would be the best is strictly socialized medicine and that is not what is best for our country, plus that is not why the Republicans have not passed a new bill. I am sure most of us are very frustrated right now but it is better not to pass a bill, than pass a bad bill. It appears it might be time to put the health care idea on the back burner just for awhile and concentrate on other issues. Give it a rest.

Many links to single payer information: here.

According to a July 5 report, the Kaiser Family Foundation states "53% of polled Americans now favor a single payer system". link.

More info from Kaiser.

Oh gee, a poll. Those are never wrong. Of course, it does help when people get accurate information which apparently the people that put together this stupid idea can't supply. Typical Democrats. Let's put it in play and worry about the costs later.

Because it's very costly. Even Vermont where Sanders from and Colorado another liberal state, can't pull it off.

Yes, I have been hearing that as well, but the problem is, in my view, many favor it but do not understand it. I think if they really knew exactly what it means you would see those polls change. What people do not realize, you can't have top of the line medical care at bargain prices and that is what so many people think they have a right to have. It all boils down to so many just wanting the government to pay for everything without realizing the burden, eventually will fall on them or the services will be cut dramatically.

I got a angiogram and stent promptly last May. I'd be dead by now if Calif. had single payer.

"Oh gee, a poll."....I hope you took the time to read it, look at the stats, the methodology, prior to disregarding it. When I take the time to post, I usually include an informational source, not just an opinion or a talking point. Whether it suits everyone's ideology is a different story, but it's not about ideology.... it's dialog for an informed discussion.

"in my view, many favor it but do not understand it. I think if they really knew exactly what it means you would see those polls change"....which is why KFF asked the questions is several formats...like referring to "single payer" or "medicare for all"....basically the same tconcept, but with different poll results. Much like those polled who are opposed to "Obamacare", but view the Affordable Care Act favorably...it boils down to understanding the subject.

The KFF is a well regarded source for healthcare information and data.
