Actually it's the deniers that resemble a religion.....Religion is belief without evidence. Climate change is based on evidence.

Also funny is that the denier side trends more religious in general, yet they use "it's a religion" pejoratively. As if at some basic subconscious level they understand that their religious beliefs are invalid.

Good point....That didn't occur to me...

Now back to the program....Today's Washington Post... New study....

The research finds that the median warming is likely to be 3.2 degrees Celsius, and further concludes that there’s only a 5 percent chance that the world can hold limiting below 2 degrees Celsius and a mere 1 percent chance that it can be limited below 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 degrees Fahrenheit).

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...a-study-finds/

A three-degree increase in global temperature – possible as early as 2050 – would throw the carbon cycle into reverse. Instead of absorbing carbon dioxide, vegetation and soils start to release it. So much carbon pours into the atmosphere that it pumps up atmospheric concentrations by 250 parts per million by 2100, boosting global warming by another 1.5C. In other words, the Hadley team had discovered that carbon-cycle feedbacks could tip the planet into runaway global warming by the middle of this century – much earlier than anyone had expected.

"A study reports . . ."
Just doesn't sound convincing to me. One scientist reads another's paper and reports it contains good writing.

I guess you don't even know what a study is....There are links to two studies in that Washington Post article...Try reading them.

1. CO2 absorbs IR energy over a 6 micron wavelength. Water vapor absorbs over a 100 micron band.
2. Only 4% of Atmospheric CO2 is man-made.
3. CO2 comprises .04% of the atmosphere.
4. Reflected CO2 transmits heat via VIBRATION of CO2 molecules. Only a fraction of that energy is produced as vibration.
5. CO2 levels, in the history of earth, are at average LOW LEVELS.

The greatest "climate experiment" in the history of mankind was conducted (The Great Depression) and showed no correlation between alteration of human CO2 levels and temps. During the Great Depression, manufacturing output and CO2 declined by 45% (a level that will never be replicated). As a result, TEMPS INCREASED. During WW2, CO2 output increased dramatically, yet TEMPS FELL.

"Climate change" is the biggest hoax perpetuated by hucksters in the history of man.
Since you can be so wrong with your #5, it explains why the rest of your post is so full of garbage, err, "deception".

Greenhouse gas levels since the beginning of the industrial age have risen to many many many times higher than they have ever been. The science behind that is simple and proven: Analyzing ice core samples. If you think that is fake or unproven science then you are too disconnected to debate with.

The following link has a chart that shows not only how ice core gas sampling works, but there is also a chart showing the CO2 levels for the last 800,000 years. Read it and learn!

Anyone interested in how a runaway greenhouse effect can affect a planet, check out Venus. That can't happen here, of course, but you guys that don't believe greenhouse gasses warms the earth's atmosphere take the cake. Science is becoming lost. People either don't care about it, or have let politics provide their scientific education. Pathetic.

Did you respond to the wrong person, he was making a point on CO2 trapping infrared radiation.

What physics indicates otherwise.

Point #5 is quite wrong, maybe you can produce a graph for that one.

True. That moron was the worst thing we saw come into office. But the planet is heating up, but from a normal short 1500 year warming cycle.
