It is only "ironic" because you have no idea what you are talking about.

The "red scare" was used to persecute US citizens for not succumbing to fear tactics and subsequently turning on their fellow citizens. Intelligent people knew that the USSR was a very real military and authoritarian threat. But also that our constitution protects ALL political viewpoints. Yet, communism is actually an economic system, not a political one regardless.

The true irony here is that the very same people who have screamed "pinko" at every opportunity, with little understanding of any of this, are now the ones embracing Putin and Russia because Trump says they should. Despite top military officials reporting that Russia is arming our enemies in Afghanistan and has tried to stain democracy with recent election meddling.

But, I have no illusion that despite hearing any of this , you will continue on your merry uninformed way spouting misinformation.

Yes it would. Particularly about those who remain in denial that it ever happened. And those who think it is no big deal.

Learn the story of who created your "enemies" in Afghanistan, who taught the Taliban, etc. I think you will learn a lot of interesting things.
