I didn't say that, but our Presidents are measured partially by how the overall economy is doing, not just defense contractors.

So TPP is the real issue ?
Maybe try starting a thread about it instead of "beating the war drum".

Then we could :

There is nothing to the "Russia investigation", or it would have been out by now. In addition we will NOT be going to war with N. Korea. This is just more sabre rattling on their part.

This scenario being played out reminds me of the run-up to the Iraq War. Everyone getting all jingoistic. We know how that worked out.

Actually, Kim has a lot to lose and I don't think he is suicidal.

I think Californians as well as the rational citizenry would rather we cool the rhetoric rather than face a hot war. Just wait him out.
Doesn't it though? Same thing happened with Vietnam. You would think Americans could recognize the pattern by now. I suppose "Kim" will sink one of our ships in the not too distant future and we will be off on our latest adventure. The conservatives push the notion that the way to kill off the welfare state is too starve the beast - take away the money. The same applies with the endless cycle of losing warfare. Cut off the damn military budget. If you give them weapons they are going to use them.

I'm confused wasn't it Billy Clinton that ended the welfare state thru legislation not conservatives ?
Obama has already starved the military taking US to pre WW1 levels and embolding our enemies with his Neville Chamberland mentality.

Trump and co. (including most Republicans) are desperate to start a war because it will boost their poll numbers. The American people don't like to change horses in midstream.

In reality, starting a war with North Korea would be insanely stupid. For starters, Seoul will likely be flattened and tens of thousands of civilians will likely die. Sure, the Kim regime in the North will fall in the end (after God knows how many people die) ... and then what? We're going to have to spend billions to rebuild the new, unified Korea ... and we will likely have to spend a huge length of time pacifying the former North Korea. And what about China? Does anyone REALLY think China is going to be ok with a pro-Western, unified Korea along the Yalu River?

Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid beyond belief

Best option: create a separate military composed entirely of Trump supporters. Let them fight their own darn war. The American people at large are tired of war.

The longtime staunch conservative Jeff Flake is the lefts new hero !!!!
Don't lag behind when the party is out front with a new way of thinking. Keep up !!!

The democrats are putting their fingerprints all over stupid and trying to deny it is a waste of time.
